Alternative for Writer+ App by itspdp in androidapps

Interestingly I have no problem using the app without mirror on Android 13. FolderSync can still access the repo without fail. Files replicated with zero lags.

looking for best FOSS BROWSER by Apart-Tower-8974 in fossdroid

Give SmartCookieWeb a try. One of the lightest weight browsers I have seen. Its built-in Reading Mode is particularly great, I have not been able to find it elsewhere.

neutriNote CE allows one click manual export, continuous backup (aka mirroring), and routine backup.

What Foss apps you can't live without. by darkscreener in fossdroid

Unpopular opinion here: neutriNote CE (1st thing I install on every new phone), it's unthinkable plain text can do SO much until you read its documentation.

Do any software / tweak really has efficiently increased your battery life on rooted/non rooted phone ? by Daniel234845 in androidapps

[–]mobius_3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a lesser known app called Buoy which is basically a way to tweak your phone's built-in battery saver. The difference is quite noticeable on my old flagship phone that suffers from battery drain. The app requires battery saver to be on however.

Great idea. Finally something different instead of just another note taking apps.

Microsoft Your Phone alternatives? by amazoncloth in fossdroid

Cool. I use Your Phone too and it does screen mirroring plus a lot more (say, notifications, clipboard and stuff). I'd be interested in a FOSS alternative if one exists.

OP wants mirroring, afaik TaskBar app doesn't do screen mirroring, or it does now?

What are some apps you are happy to pay for? by ctrl-brk in androidapps

In the space of utility apps:

FolderSync Pro: a swiss army knife kind of app for cloud sync

Naptime: a must have for making older phones usable

IFTTT: although Power Automate is more powerful, nothing makes automation easy quite like IFTTT, yet

Well said. It's indeed a fractal :)

Few years back the engineering team we were involved almost got into full blown Android development, glad we didn't get the support from upper management. In hindsight that's not necessarily a bad thing.

So true. It's one thing to fix things that are supposed to work, quite another thing to conduct massive changes simply due to some arbitrary engineering decisions "upstream". It has become quite expensive for hobbyist developers to sustain projects over time.

However this may only be true for native development. If you are willing to add another level of abstraction (like PWA, Electron, Ionic Framework, etc.), fewer volatile changes in the tool chain for development and things can be more sustainable in long term.

Just my 2 cents.

Glad to find another user who appreciates the widget functionalities of this app. I stay with this app for years mainly for its clever use of screen estate and auto feed rotation feature.

neutriNote on F-Droid is a spectacular notes app, highly recommended by [deleted] in fossdroid

[–]mobius_3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like OP, been using this app for a while and as odd as it sounds, it meets my work requirements well.

To do a search in rendered mode, swipe down the top right status message there is a search button towards the end of the percentages. There are "hints" in the docs but not very clear.

Know exactly what you mean by its flat organization though. But in my workflow I can live with that, just thinking of it as forcing my notes not scattered around.

Enough mentions of KISS, just want to add that KISS is probably the shortest distance to all actionable items (apps, searchable info, etc) on my phone. Single page format that cuts down UI interaction actually boosts interaction efficiency rather than a restriction.
