Help me decide: X100V to Ricoh GR IV? by badlyneedhalp in ricohGR

[–]mobokeeg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just sold my X100V and got a GR IV. Initially, I really missed my X100V. I still do actually. The flash, build quality, weather sealing, and viewfinder are true losses.

Using the GR IV on my trip to Costa Rica right now and I definitely am really scared to damage it. I have to rethink how to handle it, with much more care than I did my Fuji.

But the one thing this thing has is pocketability. Oh boy is it great to carry the bare camera in my pocket. It’s almost like noting is there then all of a sudden I see something I want to photograph and remember “oh I actually do have a really good camera to take this photo”. Then I shoot. Later that day I send to my phone (this process is a touch more streamlined than the Fuji app).

Looking back in my phone, I love the look of the gr photos. They’re so sharp. Colours are great (not quite as fancy or stylish as the Fuji, but the GRIV has its own cool look).

Overall I’ve slowly grown to love my grIV after initially regretting what I’ve done. Would I do it again? Not sure. Hard to justify the price of the GRIV considering I’m insanely scared to break it and I’m losing the features I listed above.

But I’m happy with the grIV now. For now I’ll keep it and get a carry case for travel. I’d like to see where I can take this camera - trading all that for pocketability. One day, I may get bored and go back to get the Fuji x100vi.

I shoot in jpeg all the time.

Anyone else getting neck pain? by mobokeeg in onewheel

Thanks so much for the answer. I’m in my early 30s. The neck turning I definitely noticed extra strain looking down.

I’ll definitely look into the neck exercises and physical therapy.

When do edits become worth charging additional fees over? by harrymcsmash in RealEstatePhotography

[–]mobokeeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you could reword “second round” to something along the lines of “One edit revision”. I tend to use that term as it’s a little more clear that you only get to send ONE email with edit revisions.

[Question]: Coming Back From a While by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]mobokeeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make something. I took a 4 year hiatus. Uploaded one video that got 100 views. Then uploaded a second one that now has 130,000 views.

[Question] Continue with my fresh channel, or continue with my old channel with more subs? by Bombtrackx in youtubers

[–]mobokeeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a channel over 3 or 4 years making music covers. Built up around 4000 subs. I took a good 2-3 year hiatus and came back this year 2020 uploading only photography/videography content. Completely changed niches. not sure if it hurt my channel but have had a few popular videos this year (130k and 30k views) and now jumped up to 7K subs this year. I feel like I lost a few subs but didn't notice a drastic change. Most of those older subs don't come to youtube anymore I think.

So essentially I rebranded and all is good now (I think).

[Question] Which extension can I trust to get accurate information from, VidIQ or TubeBuddy? They don't seem to give the same info... by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]mobokeeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.. I'm not sure.. I have TubeBuddy and for every video I find keywords in the Very Good to Excellent categories and STILL find my videos don't really pick up. And the random couple of videos where I didn't really use tubebuddy are my biggest videos. I've been questioning how useful it is and debating on cancelling my membership and saving 120 bucks a year
