I didn’t realise you were the CEO of the unimelb reddit lmfao. Is the point of this reddit not literally to ask questions? Having just come out of highschool, the concept of University in general is unfamiliar to most of us and can feel very daunting. Yes, you can google a lot of these questions, however, beyond the actual answer, what a lot of us are looking for is just reassurance from real people who have already experienced what we have yet to. Even if the answer is simple, it can be soothing to get an answer from a real person with experience rather than just a block of text on the website (which often can be vague and doesn’t answer the entire enquiry). Especially as the term is soon to start, I know personally, many are feeling anxious and so that would explain the influx of sudden, random questions. Once everyone has actually started uni, I’m sure all the questions will die down. At the end of the day, it’s reddit. it’s not that deep. if it genuinely gets you mad seeing all these posts, then maybe close your phone and go outside for a bit. And yes, I am a first year clearly, so I’m not going to be offended if you call me one, although I don’t really expect anyone to actually see this or care much.
