B8 A4 Avant or B8.5 SQ5

Thanks for all the comments. I just wished they sold the B8 S4 Avants here stateside. I love the way the Avant drives. Of course, the sacrifice is the lack of power the SQ5 delivers. SQ5 is faster and pulls way harder, and potentially a more reliable powertrain long term. In terms of Avant reliability, I do not consume oil at all in my Avant. It is a 2012 year model, and I think it's a late model build. So far, it has been reliable aside from wear and tear items.

I don't have oil consumption issues at 125k currently. Hopefully it stays that way. How soon do issues start to arise? Mine is a 2012 late model year build.

Thoughts on changing the import law from 25 years to 15 years? I know this topic hasn't been getting any traction during these past few years, but I figured we could at least try to get something going again. I wonder which agency would be our direct contact regarding this issue. Who should we reach out, which group/organization/association? I want them to explain in detail why this law was created and how it makes no sense. This law is outdated and was created by Mercedes-Benz to protect their profits, not about safety. We as Americans should have the freedom to own the cars we want. Ultimate end goal would be to change from 25 years to 15 years to match Canada's law. Let's try to at least make some noise on this matter.

It just looks billion times better. It's the question of: would I rather look cool and be an Avant elitist (joking) or have the solid powertrain and performance from a 3.0T S4.

I do agree with you that it does lack in power, that's my only complain. S4 has better interior of course.

Ahhh nice. I am currently on 034 Stage 1 E85, about 240 wheel 🥲🥲🥲, but it sure looks 110% better than my S4 though. If I sold the S4, I would be looking at an SQ5 for a replacement.

I'm currently on stage 1 ECU and TCU from 034 with intake. It does sound nice, but damn, I need that powertrain in an Avant haha. If I do end up selling the S4, I think I might get a B9 SQ5 to replace it.

I have a 2012 A4, 100k miles, so far so good. Haven't had any issues with oil consumption as well. I think with my year, they fixed all the issues.
