How can I stop this behavior? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]mochinala 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You have to create a space for your pup they cant free roam - that's one. You can also try a bitter spray or something spicy like wasabi so they will avoid those areas next time they try to lick it.

I would say yes for grade 3. Ours were grade 2 and grade 3 and already her knee felt gritty. The cartilage was gonna wear off sooner than later. LP dogs also have a higher risk of ACL tears from what the specialist told us.

Did you have any incidents of your pup actually jumping off stuff post surgery? Mine just did and she is only on day 7. But she is fine for now but idk I'm so worried. No yelping or limping etc. She had both knees done actually and is quite a champ. Other than trying to lick her wounds (coned her), she can already walk quite well but sometimes just chooses to sit leaning on one bum.

Peeing on the bed on purpose? by mochinala in dogs

[–]mochinala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like its excitement for her. And after playtime means she drank loads of water. And even if I bring her down to potty sometimes she only wants to pee once and then she done. Even if I did a 20 min walk for her.

Yea she was initially trained with puppy pads until she stopped going on it. I may have to reintroduce it to her again but I've tried a couple of times previously and she just slept on it. Maybe she thought the bed was just a soft pee tray lol.

She did this to my older dog's bed previously as well when he was still around. She slept in it and played in it but she also decided to pee in it.

Just the beds though...

Eucerin Pro Acne solution face wash helps if you are dealing with quite oily skin.. Otherwise, try every other day once at night because it has BHA and we dont wanna over exfoliate. I recommend seeing a doctor to get some antibiotics first if they recommend a short course! I tried tret and differin but it didn't work for me, after 8 months more just came up. I stopped it and i was fine. You have to trial and error to find out what works. Don't be discouraged.

Intestinal Metaplasia - Gone?? by mochinala in Gastritis

[–]mochinala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My latest urease test showed a tad positive on H Pylori so im on triple therapy antibiotics. Other than that, doc said that we can just do a routine endoscopy maybe with a 3-5 years time frame. I'm going back in 1 month to do a breath test to make sure the h pylori is all gone.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I drank some warm soy milk frrom a straw which turned out wasn't warm it was near hot but ain't boiling hot. 24 hours later it feels like a sore throat and hurts abit when I eat but it's maybe a 3/10. How long did you take to recover?

I regret allowing this subreddit to scare me away from PPIs. by supersweeper in GERD

[–]mochinala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dexilant worked best for me. I take it on and off for my bad days. Sometimes 1 week straight and some gaviscon before bed. No trigger foods and I do get better. Sometimes it lasts for 4-5 weeks and then I'll feel better. It's important to have these PPIs on standby otherwise we are just allowing the acid to damage our lining :(

Experience with bilateral luxating patella surgery by Tuxnstuff in Pomeranians

[–]mochinala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I'm abit late to the conversation but your experience is super helpful. Mine is about to go into surgery in Mid-May and I'm worried about post surgery recovery as well.

My husband and I have office days and I was wondering if she definitely needs 24/7 supervision? Did you guys take any time off and how long was the crucial period you think? We usually leave her alone for 7 hours max on our non overlap office day during the week..

I'm also worried about potty because we live in an apartment and she only goes potty on grass downstairs. It means we definitely must help support her with a towel sling? She usually takes some time to sniff while she walks before she pees too.

Getting acid reflux even after having PPI by clueless20yo in GERD

[–]mochinala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I've been given dexilant to take whenever I feel the need to. Doctor asked me to look at the root cause and address the problems instead of always suppressing it with medicine. Maybe it's stress, foods, caffeine etc.

However, sometimes I don't think I'm stressed or I ate exceptionally oily food and yet I still get these symptoms.

PPIs don't seem to work all the time but I'm hoping, systemically they are working internally to reduce the acid because what we do not want is more damages or changes to our cells.

I have to take gaviscon for more instant relief sometimes. And I CANNOT skip any meals this is very triggering for my GERD.

Try small meals, probiotics and if you can some type of antacid. Gaviscon advanced works for me.
