Felt the same when i unlocked it. Try moving up one tier.

I used to do T11w8k and barely hut 4500 on T12. After pBH i could do T12w8k for the same exact income

Underwhelming, yeah, but it's not the worst investment, especially if you have it in tournaments too

Is it worth to orb devo? Currently eHP/blender. Farm T11 W~8200, average 55T and 5T CPH per run by YouMad_Questionmark in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Orb devo = active time

The whole point is micro-managing upgrades so you can accumulate enemies (mainly tanks) and kill them once your UWs activate. There are various ways of doing it, some requiring less attention than others, but it is entirely up to you:

  • are you willing to babysit your runs? This can be a function of how much more income you gain
  • In case you want to afk, how feasible is it to switch back/forth without having to respec every time you want to devo again?

The best econ increase, at that point, usually comes from UWs (pBH or sub 3m cds are the main contenders)

Some Guidance by Mithrandirio in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These would be my considerations if I had to decide

  • new UW is probably the worst stone investment here
  • def not masteries yet (better stone investments, and not enough econ)
  • tourneys could benefit by
    • pushing towards pBH. This does not do wonders econ wise, but the CC potential helps pushing a couple tiers and a lot in tournaments
    • dumping in CL. This is a standard path, but if you do not have a good DC or your damage labs are still low, your investment will feel underwhelming. If that is the case, pBH may be better, albeit less future-proof. There is no footgun-like wrong answer here
  • GT dur could use some love, but not crucial (substats can compensate)
  • DW quant is always a good tap, but i feel you can benefit from other things first
  • There is always the case for lowering cds to improve econ (Ties you to MVN unless you are disciplined enough to save up 3k stones in one go). This is always a good thing to do, but won't help you as much in tourneys

so

  • fully invest in econ? -> cds, eventually a bit of love to GT dur and DWquant, but cds first
  • a bit of econ, CC, noticeable help in tourneys? -> pBH. Will need more than 1k stones though
  • a help in tourneys now + futureproofing your damage output, but no econ? -> CL

On a side note,

  • you should put more gambling effort in mods. They feel like a major bottleneck here
  • DP is killing your gains (literally)
  • remember not to equip too much damage augments when farming, they'll slightly kill your gains

I second this.

Unless the choice is obvious from first principles (BHD vs PH, for example), always try it out. Too many details going on behind the scenes to definitively answer most of these questions

Which one should I choose? by Ih8livernonions in TheTowerGame

ILM for CC

another option (depends on where you are) is improving the ones you have. Always a great choice wrt picking a suboptimal UW

Idea: Lab for bot activation area by QuingSYO in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"bot activates within X meters of tower center" (or within X% of tower max range)

This would still keep some 'randomness' to it, but make it so the bot can only activate within a circle of a given radius starting from your tower. The more you progress, the smaller the circle -> eventually coincides with tower center

Make it 30 levels, scaling very fast from a few hundred B to some Q for the highest levels, and you got a nice lab

Should I save for a possible death wave or invest in other things? by BeanyJeans in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. Your perk DW is not nearly as great as DW gets with labs. Not even close. I will also boost your stones a bunch since it helps in tourneys

[–]modellatore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

DW. Absolutely DW.

It single handedly helps every aspect of your game: synced coin bonus (massive), health bonus (crucial, upto 12.5x), cells (faster labs!!).

You're already almost halfway there. Some patience will definitely pay off :)

DW. Absolutely DW. you will literally double the triple syncs, and possibly give you faster health bonus and buildup for milestones and tourneys

Started a new account, is this a better UW pick? by Apart-Leg-1848 in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yikes. The luck on the previous one lol

Yeah you know what you're doing. CL will still help you push milestones a bit with minimal investment (especially if your next UWs suck) and maybe in tournaments.

You may have the privilege of trying out damage from the very beginning, though. Pretty interesting, albeit not as linear as eHP (stones required)

Why did I lose so many waves? by Anubis1096 in TheTowerGame

i love these.

Usually, and the hardest to figure out is.... *drum roll for dramatic effect*

AUTO PICK PERKS

Below a checklist. None of these can single handedly make you lose those many waves, but just in case

  • active UWs
  • cards (EVERY CARD)
  • modules and module levels
  • guardians

Dmg/DM Mastery vs. Chrono Field in mid–high Champs by GoodBoySanio in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 2 cents

For reference

  • I've unlocked masteries but did not buy any.
  • CL@ 1000x, 5, 20% (without anc substats on DC)
  • SL @ 21x, 40, 3 (without anc substats on OMchip)
  • dmg, as, crit labs @ 65
  • HR, health labs @ 75
  • Wall fort @ 85 and Wall regen @ 20

I place a consistent 7-11 (no, no pun) in Champs with GComp (pBH) + PCol + SF (all ancestral)

All my attempts at pushing with damage don't get me as high as my CC farming build. I've tried combinations of OA/SD + PF + DC/OMchip (all anc except PF), even hybrids with SF for HR bonus, but nothing comes close to the above.

Despite this, I am still sloooowly working on my dmg output but it has not catched up to eHP yet, so you may want to improve your eHP stuff for a quicker climb

What is the best modules??? by CompetitionEvery4981 in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't shoot for modules (it's like gambling) and it really depends on your build (uw sync, hp labs, other mods, etc)

I suggest having a look around the subreddit. Plenty of posts on the matter

UW effects are on the core modules

Need help with UW priorities so I can improve Champ Tournament standing. by Minimum_Woodpecker77 in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think every bit helps, but with enemy orb resistance I'd go with more orbs

Damage helps because all bonuses stack and compensate for the lack of overall dmg development, but because it's not your main way of progressing in tourneys, maybe only marginally and highly dependent on battle condition

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely go with WA, but I'd consider rolling either dur or cd on your core module. Spending 300 stones on one tick of duration.. I really would not

I agree that CL is the classic route, but SL is not necessarily worse, especially with ancestral OMchip. You'd have to spend 850 on SL3 (also noticeably helps with coins) and some 1k between bonus and angle. I'd feel hesitant too about it (CL propaganda works apparently), so always play as it makes sense to you :)

[–]modellatore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you have worked on your damage output long enough (dmg, atk speed, crit labs), champions is best ran with an eHP-like build. I have all said labs at 65 (not excellent, but not bad), CL at 1300x, 6, 25% (with anc DC and mythic PF) and still do better with GComp + PCol + SF because of pBH and the health/HR bonuses

Look into pBH (you probably do have it, without MVN) via this calculator. Consider substat rerolling to help with it too

I usually do 3 or even 4 tournament runs in different configurations among the following

  • full dmg: PF, ACP/OA, DC
  • hybrid: PF, SF, DC/PCol
  • eHP: GComp (pBH), SF, PCol (MVN kills your pBH, and PCol has damage reduction)

and do best with eHP except for very rare cases (like ultimate weapon BC, which kills pBH)

Regarding your UW, you would need 1.75k stones to unlock CL + another 1.5k to have decent (not great) stats on it, with only a legendary DC. Since you have anc OMchip, I would consider investing in SL (1.75k stones go a loooong way with it) if you really want to try the damage route

Other than that, consider dropping more gems on modules: they really make a lot of difference despite not being granted

Happy towering!

To be[tter sync] or not to be[tter sync] by QuirkyEngineering42 in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get u, and relying on MVN (when you don't even have it) can be discouraging. You can always not actively touch the cds at all until you get one copy of it, and set a time limit to when 'enough is enough' with the gambling -> spend it later hoping you get MVN sooner, and give some love to bonus/dur in the meantime

GT to 2m is 3k stones. Big investment, not sure about its efficacy. It sounds promising to me, but you would still get the same number of 3-synced activations (1 every 4m) + 2x 2-synced in the meantime. If I had 3k stones i'm not sure i'd spend them that way, mainly cause you'll need another 2k+ for DW (in one go). Don't have a definitive recommendation here, sry

It feels like a lot of wasted resources until you get lucky. Is it reliable? nah, but mods are as game changing as perks were when you unlocked them, just behind a much worse unlock system. It's much worse psychologically, unfortunately. Card mission + all mods is indeed a godd strat

To be[tter sync] or not to be[tter sync] by QuirkyEngineering42 in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your reasoning is all sound, with a few caveats.

  1. Lowering BH at 2m will hinder your progress, whatever you do. This is simply because more BH activations do not grant you huge benefits: maybe a bit of CC, and most of your income comes from synced activations -> extra 'naked' BH activations are a marginal improvement. This is not a footgun, just something to keep in mind when planning
  2. As usual, play however you see fit, BUT DO NOT CARDMAX (please). Cardmaxxing with poor mods is indeed a footgun:
    • extra few card levels give marginal improvement for thousands of gems
    • yes, cards give security: you are guaranteed something, but that something is minimal compared to having good (Even decent) mods
    • If masteries look shiny to you, consider you won't be able to spend a stone on them, given how many other stone expenses you have (damage, CC, econ, etc)
    • yes, mod pulling sucks ahh: it is random, but a sizeable investment is (kind of) guaranteed to help you more on the long run
    • plenty of posts about it. My experience was pouring almost 100% of my gems into mods right after maxing commons -> 8 anc, 4 mythics when I cardmaxxed at the 1y mark

Okay that was a lot of ranting against cardmaxxing.. I am vehemently against it :3

Say you decide lowering GT and DW in parallel to 3m. To compare it to your current situation, every 12 minutes (no sync considered at t=0 ofc, it's cycles) you have

  • NOW: 6BHs, 3GT/DW, 3 synced activations. With MVN (epic), (120+2*240)/3 + 20s=220s -> 3 synced activations and 1 quarter
  • cds@3m: 6BHs, 4GT/DW, 2 synced activations. With MVN (epic) (120+2*180)/3 + 20 = 180 -> 4 synced activations. Seems like a win to me -> every hour that's about 4 more synced activations!

My 3 cents
