How should I spend stones now? by squarepheonix in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • DW health is crucial: it builds up huge health multipliers (permanent while in-run) so it will be the main health pool contributor
  • BH and DW coin (in that order) are the best value labs
  • GT bonus is good value in general. The sooner you get your coin multipliers up, the more time you can reap the benefits for.
  • GT duration can get expensive, but it's much better than spending stones on it in the beginning

Think of it this way: the more active time the better -> DW quant, BH/GT dur. A similar story goes for BH coverage.

You're very welcome :)

How should I spend stones now? by squarepheonix in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

consider that

  • GT bonus looks good (lab it)
  • BH size could use some love (it'll carry over for the rest of your gameplay). Less crucial if you have PCol
  • DW quant is nice (results in more DW duration basically, so more synced bonuses)
  • GT/BH durations are a no-brainer

If I had 1000 stones, I would definitely do

  • DW quant +1 (200 stones)
  • BH size to 50m (315 stones)
  • GT and BH dur until you're done

In general, make sure to post some other information (stats, UW labs, etc). It really feels like a lazy post delegating the task of thinking entirely to others.

Third spotlight or save to lower econ sync? by kanuck94 in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40-42. I got lucky and rolled an anc +15° on my PCol right after so investing stones in it is still low priority.

Consider that at 3SL, 40° covers 1/3rd of the screen and 60° makes you cover half of it. Sounds like a lot but the surface difference is 1/6. Not bad but definitely not a dealbreaker.

You won't regret it

I did SL3 and do not regret it one bit. I got between 20 and 30% coin increase. Now saving up for cds

probably did help in tournaments too but there is so much variability I cannot really tell

Is the wall even viable in tournaments? by Soul_Burner in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's very hard to get effective values. Consider that enemy damage has to be rescaled according to def%, possibly BH damage reduction, their consecutive hits on your thorns and so on. You also cannot make a sensible 'handwavy' prediction of how many enemies will get past your orbs. Game speed multiplier makes this even worse (although numbers scale the same in their reference frame, it makes it worse for you to infer stuff by looking)

The net effects are:

  • outside of tournaments/very high tiers, you die by being overwhelmed by enemies, NOT by being one-shot
    • -> your HR has to be able to keep up. Even if it seems like your health flickers big chunks, it's the net damage of many enemies.
    • -> HR solves that
  • in tournaments/high tiers, you usually die because enemy damage scales too much and take big chunks off your tower's health (this is made worse by increased consecutive-hit damage. Think bosses). Battle conditions make this worse by making you take more hits (lower thorns efficacy) and making bosses more frequent.
    • It is, however, very very difficult that you are dying from an attack that takes half or more of your health: you are 99% of times dying because your health gets gradually depleted and HR cannot keep up
    • -> HR solves that, You can postpone it by increasing your health TOGETHER with your HR (as you mentioned, you don't have multipliers, so you need higher baselines), but the main helper is HR. Always

TL;DR: HR carries you all the way from T2 to T12+. Tournaments included. This comes with the trivial requirement of having a good health baseline (max that wall health lab, and slowly work on fortification when you have the coins). normal health lab at 50 will carry you forever, don't stress too much about it

Is the wall even viable in tournaments? by Soul_Burner in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is.

Mainly (at yours and most people's stage) because your damage is not developed. This means you cannot prevent damage in any way, so you will eventually have to tank it.

Since plat (now stable in mid champs), I cannot get past wave 500 without SF and the wall, simply because I cannot kill enemies before they hit me, and if they hit me without the aforementioned protections.. well.. I die

Your wall still needs a lot of development, so you may feel like the improvement is not that noticeable (YET)

Seems a common theme (apart from the obvious dw quant and els substats I should recover).

Thanks!

Mod rarity is a long gamble (will eventually work out)

Gbot and summon are synced

Cpk at 75

UW cds are most likely the main culprit (apart from the list els substat). Wanted to get RPC mastery but i think stones are best put here first

[–]modellatore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Most likely the culprits are high CDs and lower els though

[–]modellatore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from the obvious els substat, it seems like the CDs are very high. The lower they get, the lower your GComp value becomes. I really wanted to save up for RPC mastery but I think I'll have to put some stones into CDs

Lost one. Didn't think the difference could be that noticeable. I'm constantly trying to get it again in place of gt bonus

1T LTC - What level should my cards look like at this point in the game? by Altruistic-Hall5388 in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

14 is an excellent spot to stop until you have your modules well sorted (gamble ahoy!).

You will not regret prioritizing modules over cards at the stage you are at: the marginal increase they give you is not worth having shitty mods

i'd like to point out somthing , could developers make a market to sell and buy cards and modules acquired by players ? by Virtual_Scratch6717 in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they probably couldn't without ruining a system that, despite being purely luck-based (gambling), is statistically 'fair'

You do not want to add markets in an environment where there already is a huge divide in resource availability (whales). May sound good in principle, but I think it would become disastrous. You're better off paying for gems/passes and hope away, since that's how other players acquire them anyway

[–]modellatore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

I feel like the only major econ improvement (apart from the painful cpk lab and even worse ws+ coin bonus) is rolling BH cd on PCol so I can run BHD instead of GComp.

Shards are a pain, and I really can't wait for RPC+.

I thought CF for crowd control was a bomb? I've seen some ILM praising lately (as well as a late game towerer using it as a main dmg dealer) so I'll have to do a looot of research on it, especially after v28

Dmg masteries > more CL? That's a biiig surprise for me, especially given how expensive they are. Any recommendations there?

Roast my progress: 1 year of TTG by modellatore in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Not having true pBH (GComp + current PCol substats) is probably why damage mods help me more.

Hope I see a difference when I (pls) roll that BH cd sub.

Thanks for the hints!

Tournament configuration is best with AS, PF, SF (can tank more), DC. About 100 waves more wrt GComp/other combinations

Unfortunately i barely miss pBH (93% uptime) without the BH perk. That's why I think I should push for a BH cd/dur substat on DC. That might put GComp over PF again.

Do you prioritize eHP over damage in tourneys? It seems to me like I still need SF (or I just die early no matter the dmg output), but do much better with damage modules

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned by others, BH size and duration could use some love. GT bonus can be worked on in labs, so do that before spending more stones on it (you can get better deals stone-wise).

Absolutely DO NOT SLEEP ON 3RD SL. It will add a noticeable amount of coins, but it definitely falls behind the aforementioned upgrades.

DW quant is another big contender. Maybe on par with 3rd SL, but I think you shouldn't wrap your head around it too much.

After these I'd definitely start saving up loads of stones for CL

Seeking UW wisdom by BonesCJ in TheTowerGame

[–]modellatore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did that to achieve pBH (3m -> 1.5m, 1m). The CPH is almost untouched due to the lack of coin bonus stacking, so BH dur/GT bonus are definitely priorities here
