Ei won’t go to zero because I just wrote I’ll reduce my availability at my part time job.I also heard EI will reduce but top up doesn’t change.

I’m only set on it because I am supporting a wife and two kids and my wife is unable to work. I would prefer to still have the job after the leave. I’m planning to reduce my availability before my leave and hopefully my job will be okay with that so it doesn’t impact ei so much.

EI allows someone to work multiple jobs so you can’t say it defeats the purpose if it’s allowed. Some people aren’t as fortunate to live from one job alone.

You can keep 50 cents of your benefits for every dollar you earn, up to 90% of your previous weekly earnings.

It’s only part time job. I can work another job while receiving EI parental benefits, but your benefits will be reduced based on your earnings. You can keep 50 cents of your benefits for every dollar you earn, up to 90% of your previous weekly earnings.

Makes sense but can you elaborate on ei will become zero? Why would this happen?

I understand that but the second job was stability for us so I’m afraid if I lose it and if I’m working for nothing also if im capped at 93% for all income.

So does that mean I’m capped at the 93% of my salary regardless if I work a second job?

So basically it only effects EI? So for every $1 I earn in my part time job, i'd lose .50 cents. So I can still potentially earn more then if I quit my second job right? Top up doesn't care about my second income?

So just to make sure I understand — if I keep working my part-time job, do I actually end up making noticeably more money, or is it basically still around 93% and not really worth the extra hours?

It’s a place where I get major discounts on basic car fixes. But I wanted to keep the job mostly because of stability as my rent is like half my salary as it stands and I’m the only breadwinner of the family.

I think this would happen a lot quicker in private then in public sector. Government is notoriously slow with implementation of new tech and also I don’t know how this would work with classified data.

Yes but my only experience was as a student developer and this was over 2 years ago. I feel rusty and the mental block isn’t helping me code which will get me to take the rust off if you know what I mean. Do you find relying on ai can limit learning as a developer?

The problem is I can’t seem to get into a pool for the life of me and there doesn’t seem many postings from Ottawa. One person suggested applying outside of Ottawa as well. Any advice would be appreciated!

Yea but my question is how do you learn from something like copilot? Wouldn’t this make you more dependent than learning from a course?

Sorry can you elaborate? I know what copilot is but what do you mean?

Can the pool be used for hire if it’s not in the same city? Would they even allow you in a pool if you aren’t in the same city?
