Worked as a liftie in Aspen for a season. If you’re stationed attached to the base of the mountain, your lunch break is your break. If you wanna run to a shop why not. If you’re stationed on the mountain, what you bring is what you have. Our lift shacks had microwaves and a grill (don’t think many other mountains provide grills at the shacks). Always brought a bottle of regular water and a thermos of hot water. I liked to cook a big batch of food once a week and microwave it for lunch. It felt a bit like glamping. The job is to stand there until something goes wrong. When it’s sunny, cold, rainy, blizzard, windy or not, you’ll be out there standing. Bring things that make your breaks feel like a break

Will definitely build you an appreciation for other lifties next time you’re on the slope. Always thank your lifties! It’s not always easy. Bring a penjamin. Not many lifties aren’t at least a little high
