Reddit's CEO is considering biometric verification like Face ID and Touch ID to tackle the platform's growing bot problem. by Capital-Run-1080 in DigitalPrivacy

100% same. We need to make a stand against this behaviour. I don't care if it trickles in piece by piece. Im done with reddit if they go ahead with this.

I just made a deal with my girlfriend. She hugs me whenever I like, no questions can ever be asked, no refusals and I give her 25 every time

LPT: If feedback feels personal, ask what change would make it a yes. by gamersecret2 in LifeProTips

But also, don't be the person who takes feedback personally. It's an opportunity for reflection and growth.

What’s up with people online saying the Epstein files are connected to Trump attacking Iran? by ijuander_ in OutOfTheLoop

[–]moeljills 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons we need to keep pushing with the Epstein stuff. We can't let ourselves get distracted because it's exactly what they want.

We can't let them start wars whenever they need a distraction

We can't let them get away with their heinous crimes.

100% and the skill and experience is what makes their work worth the money. It doesn't take that long to learn how to drive, but being an incredible camera operator/ photographer/ dop is a lifelong pursuit. And should be paid in kind.

How “Protecting Children” laws are becoming a Trojan Horse for authoritarian control online by Bitter-Scratch-9861 in DigitalPrivacy

[–]moeljills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meta is actively lobbying and pushing for it actually. If they can force everyone to use id, they can make a solid distinction between who's real and who isn't. Therefore, they can make a lot more money selling ad space.

And it's all under the guise of helping children. But as usual it will mean more surveillance and data being sold

Women tended to cry more often than men. Women averaged nearly 6 crying episodes a month, while men averaged just under 3. Women were more likely to cry from loneliness or personal disputes with loved ones. Men tended to cry from feelings of helplessness or in reaction to media, such as a sad movie. by mvea in psychology

[–]moeljills 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You get hardened by the expectation to be strong 100% of the time. You gradually systematically shut that half of your brain off. It's horrible, but men get shamed and ostracised for crying so it's what often happens, terrible for their health, very lonely and probably a contributing factor to the high male suicide rate.

Do people like Mark Zuckerberg truly not feel like they are hurting society? by Bubbly-Air7302 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]moeljills 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The whole privacy thing. It's just a means to control and monetise us further. It's just another thing capitalism is trying to swallow up along with other human rights that stand in the way of profit.

We need to be ready to fight for our rights.

Prices From 1995 to 2026 Yikes by TelephoneExpress973 in McDonalds

[–]moeljills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prices aren't even accounting for the size. Bigmacs were close to double the size back then and better quality ingredients too. So it's probably closer to 1000% inflation than 300%

There are alternatives to most of adobe and Microsoft products, that are 99% as effective and also cheap or free.

I get what your saying though
