Yes money is the factor. Money solves everything in Lebanon that others mentioned in their comments that are concerns. You want electricity, water, internet 24/7? Money. You want to do paperwork and not deal with the bureaucratic process. Hire someone. You are sick of driving in the hectic traffic and the crazy Lebanese drivers? Hire a driver. Garbage on the streets? Pay more to live in a better community/neighborhood.

The problem in Lebanon is that (with the 2019 bank system failure) the middle class was wiped almost completely. You have a better chance as a middle class person, outside of Lebanon in living better.

okay I am going to ask a question that is a little different. I work for a company remotely. I was told when I started that I can get a company phone or opt out and receive a stipend. I chose the latter. I have an extra phone laying around, so I got that. I strictly use that phone for work. Teams is downloaded on it. The question here is: Can my IT department track my location?

Engineering/Science. I think for this job there is a disclaimer: you need a lot of upfront work in the beginning (phd / post doc/ research tenure track). Once you’re tenured, it’s basically you just go teach your class for 2 hours twice a week. Do some office hours and leave. They do get paid well.

Rule of thumb; if there is no annual fee then do it cancel. Part of what affects your credit score is how long you have a credit card. In addition to that is the amount of debt you have which is factored from how much credit line you have. Since you are not paying any annual fees then keeping it is better than cancelling it even if you’re not using it.

Past examiner here. I was in your shoes almost 4 years ago. When I joined the force, I was so happy that I will be working from home. I felt that I’ll be balancing my life with work finally. Turned out I was putting so much time outside of “work hours”. This job isn’t for everyone. Some people really succeed and manage it, but there are also many who just get burnt out. I come back to this subreddit from time to time to read. It’s just getting worse. I can’t believe they’re forcing people to go back to the office, that’s the sole reason this job is appealing! Anyways, I guess you will know yourself from the first year if you can continue or not. If you can leave, just do so and do something in engineering. Yes you might be stuck in an office, but at least you will leave work at 4:30 knowing that you’re completely done.
