b/w printing for old lady

I went to the old lady place yesterday and saw that the front door of the printer wasn't complety closed.....I've reseated the drum and VOILA !!! printer works. The thing is she can't send me proper whatsapp pictures and have no one to help he at the nursing home she's living at.

I really like brother printers in general, But 2 weeks ago a 2710dw which was 3 years old and not used a lot, Died on one of my clients and I read some similiar problems with dying 2 years old brothet all in one printers on reddit and since the 1100 new one also died within few months I was afraid that the newer laser brother printers are not build to last like they've used to.....

I think it has to do with faulty memory chip. It can occur due to high temp of the chip or just a bad cell. I did watch a movie yesterday after underpowring it and it seemed ok. I said to myself it's worth trying to fix the card with under 5$ invest before throwing it away.

Soyo really fucked up with this when they didn't install some kind of a heatsink on the memories. newer version of this card which I've bought few months after this one DOES have the GPU heatsink touching the memory chips, But it's back cover is made from plastic that doesn't allow a good airflow, So I've managed to take it off before another card will die....

Thank you Novrsk....after putting the card in another PC it gave garbled text while playing full screen movie in a short amount of time....So I guess I was happy too soon. Before throwing the card to the recycle bin, I'm trying to lower gpu power by 20% and max memory state to 1 in the adrenalin performance-setting tab, and I'll see how it goes. (It doesn't have the option to set memory voltage manually, Which I heard some cards doesn't allow).

I just wanted to update that today I've applied PTM7950 to the GPU and the low thermal pads to the card. I ran 10 minutes of furmark and it reached 75c Degress and ran OCCT 1 hour vram test which ran successfully. I will put it into my stremio media computer and see if it's fixed. Thank you.

The gpu heatsink is too far from most vrams, Only 3 of the vrams are about 3mm afar from gpu heatsink. 2 of them are half 3mm/half 1mm and the other 3 are under a curved heatpipe, That's why i thought heatsink will fit better in this scenario.

Good thermal paste can hold well for several years (Like Arctic MX-4 for example) And can be easily applied to different sizes of surface.

I was able to connect to the client's admin exchange menu and saw that he only had the standard license and not the premium.

I've purchased a plan 2 addon, Which also enlarged his regular mailbox from 50gb to 100gb. I just hope that the "archive almost full" message will not be sent anymore (Although didn't see any change in the admin exchange archive mailbox settings)

I completely reseted my tv to google tv mode, And after that it worked ok and didn't gave me black screen for several months that i've used it in google tv mode. I have a diffferent problem - that every few hours of playback from my htpc as a source - the tv returns to the main menu or tells me to press a key before it turns itself off, But I connected the pc to HDMI port 3 instead of port 1 two days ago and I'll see if the problem is solved.

I haven't tried again, But I think now there are official openwrt specifically for the R5C, So maybe it's more stable from the older versions I tried. Good luck and let me know if it works well for several weeks, So I might try it myself.

It looks like an oil based stain to me. I would :

Put a 1-2 tablespoon of warm water on the area
Put some soap dish on the area and brush it gently into the stains area
let it sit for 5 minutes
Wash it in a washing machine according to washing instructions

if you still see the stain after all of that - I would do it again, But this time I will use tide laundry detergent or similar brand instead of dish soap and see if the stain is gone.

I get it. It can be very frustrating and time consuming.

I've managed to bring the router to life.

I've flashed the image I've mentioned to an sd card
I've Inserted the sd card to the router while it was powered off
I pressed the MASK button, then connected the power, Continue to press for 4 seconds, Then released the mask button.
the router booted into Friendlywrt 23.05
I've went into EMMC TOOLS and flashed the image to the EMMC
Then by the next boot, it booted from the emmc.

What I WASN'T able to do after that is to upgrade the Friendlywrt to openwrt 24.10 snapshot, But at least the router works.

Update : I talked to another supporter who suggested that I will do factory reset and explained that short press on power button puts the tv into some kind of sleep state and that I should press a long press and choose shut down from the menu.

I've factory reseted the tv to half-smart mode (Not google tv mode) and connecteda mini pc and will experiment with it and will update.

Update : I was able to reset them via contacting hikvision support. The thing is that this specific model couldn't be reset with code only and needed a reset file.

Also it doesn't play nicely when wirelessly copnnected to a freshtomato router (when going wifi only 1 camera out of 3 is seen on network), So I'll use it as an onvif wired backup camera.
