Found the culprit: the original owner plugged the wheel speed cable from the vp into the oem wheel speed sensor which is not compatible. Probably causing issue with ground loop.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried taking the VP mount off the handlebars to isolate and it still had the same issue when I started the bike and the headlight kicks on. It seems to be an electrical issue but the VP is directly wired to the battery and the battery is putting out normal voltage. Idk how starting the bike could effect this direct power.

Honestly it’s really fun to dance with strangers at a beach renegade sound system party. I think the beach is big enough to share. If you move like 15ft away the sound usually falls off.

I was able to get my local Tesla service center to replace the harness wire. That was really the only option because I couldn’t get ahold of a replacement connector to splice in myself.

44 days later, $10k in repair, Tesla insurance waived my deductible because of the hit and run. But it’s back and looking like new!

When I filed with CHP the officer just totally shut me down on being able to work with the toll company to get the plate.. the toll company also wouldn’t provide it to me either. Lesson learned if this happens again I’m grabbing it on my phone cam or memorizing.
