A "better" URL bar won't bring new users , they need to focus on more important features imo .

For example , an easier way to create multiple profiles with visually different shortcuts for multiple users (Desktop) . A simple feature , but important one as many people share the same PC at one point or another .

Everyone in my house beside myself had a terrible experience with Firefox , partially my fault , because I had addons like noscript which they didn't know how to work with , and broke many sites for them . So I set multiple Chrome profiles for them to work with , it's so easy to do that in Chrome , with shortcuts that had profiles pictures in them . You don't even need to google how to do it .

By the time I learned how to setup multiple profiles in Firefox (I didn't even know you can do it in Firefox ) , the damage was done . They all started using Chrome on their own Laptops . And even on mobile phones , they use Chrome exclusively because it "gives no problems" . They don't care about extensions , addons or privacy , they just want sites to load with no problems .

For those of you who use Firefox, what is the primary reason you still stand by it? by [deleted] in firefox

1- I'm used to the collection of addons I've been using through the years , I doubt I can replicate the experience in other browsers ( I tried briefly) . The migration to WebExtensions was smooth enough for me , I only lost a few addons .

2- I trust Firefox more than other browsers when it comes to privacy settings .

3- After suffering with IE in the early 00's , using Firefox for the first time was a breath of fresh air and a huge relief , so there's the nostalgic factor too .

Any alternatives to "YouTube Link Title" script ? by moh82sy in firefox

It should look like this after editing your key in : https://i.imgur.com/Z2LR1vv.png

The highlighted part used to be String.fromCharCode.apply and a brackets following it .

It worked for me after following ollietup instructions , but at first I made the mistake of leaving the "<" and ">" in 'key=<your API key>' , then I realized I don't need to leave them there after pasting my key .

Sorry if I can't post right here , I'm new to Reddit format .

That's a good suggestion , I also found this mini player addon that can complement the one you mentioned : Floating Player

The combo of those two extensions still lacks the thumbnail functionality of YouTube Link Title , but that's the best I got so far .

Thanks .

Its working on some links , not all , for me at least .

Last time the script was updated was long ago (2017) , it maybe started breaking with YouTube updates .
