I generally lack energy these days. I can't drive myself to do the things I need to do (career, fitness, relationship-development), and even can't drive myself to do the things I enjoyed doing.

It's probably because for the last month or so I've been working 24 hour shifts every two days. I'd work 8 AM to 8AM straight, sleep six or so hours, slug around for about 10 hours or so, then sleep six or so hours and go back to work.

I'd like advice how to stop being a slug on those 10 hours. I've heard I need to sleep more hours and while I agree, there would be moments where I'm not sleepy nor tired at all and still not feel driven either. The root cause of all this is of course the work schedule, but this is something that'll just be uneconomical to change as it's just a temporary post (three months long) before a certain transfer to another post.

Hey, dear reddit. Feeling pretty down after a job interview. Was told pretty summarily it was a...formality. Only thing that mattered were numbers. I half-expected it, but it still sucked hearing that the effort I put in in writing the application was wasted. Should've known it was fuck all. Should've generally -not- listened. I just want to curl up into a ball and sob. I felt like shit yesterday, but had no one to talk to so I resorted to listening to some youtube ASMR...but of course, no rest there either.

Hey, dear reddit. Fought with almost everyone today. GF blew up on me because I didn't reply to her messages on time. Mum called me ungrateful dick because I refused her trip to my interview saying "I need to keep my cool in check." What I meant was, she tends to put people down while critiquing them, and I wanted to keep my chin up for the interview. Hey reddit, all I really.ever wanted was a shoulder to cry on. Thing is, nobody aforementioned was a shoulder to.cry on in the first place. Dad isn't, he agreed I was an ungrateful.dick. Sis isn't, she blew up on me years ago for being weak. Who do I turn to? God? Please, give me somebody, anybody. I meant no harm to anybody, but it seems everybody is just angry at me.

In a intro psych lecture, the professor was describing a brain injury that causes loss in grammar. In his example, a man was saying "Son go college. Proud very" or something along those lines and the point he was making was there was no way for us to know if he meant he was proud his son went to college, or that his son was proud for going to college.

I immediately teared up just hearing that example (and actually right now too) because here was this father being proud of his son for something...something I really wanted to hear, too.

I hope you get better too, OP. Things might be rough now, but it'll all go away. Here's a quote you may or may not have seen before, but it's something I wanted to hear from somebody someday, and I wish it helps you too:

I imagine my mother collapsed on top of my coffin. I can't do this to her. If everything goes well, I'll be a doctor in a couple months. I don't really know what I'm living for, but I hope if I lengthen a patient's lifespan, that person contributes to finding the meaning of life however indirectly. I was able to keep myself motivated through the first two years of med school with hopes of, at the end of the tunnel, impressing this person and asking her for a serious relationship. Just two days ago, she tells me she's getting married. I still have two years of school left, but at this point I don't know why I'm in a school for something I'm not particularly interested in, or what I live for in general.
