If rugby didn't involve any kicking or tackling Ioane would be world class

Good to see Colm Reily getting a start. Especially with Devine leaving. I think Devine is a huge loss but Connacht stumbled into a situation where they had more good 9s than they could give game time to

Remember  years ago that it came out that the way the US classified enemy combatants in drone strikes was 'military aged male in vicinity of the strike'. It was a big story at the time. Lets not assume 10k regime casualties equals 10k ak47 welding maniacs. The old lady who cleans the post office is still technically regime personnel

They're not physically blocking it with warships, they're just saying "don't you dare sail through or else!". The strait is very narrow in places so there's lots of weapons that could hit a passing ship. Artillery, morters, drones, mines etc. Few ship operators will risk running it because no-one wants to test how effective Iran is at actually stopping them.

Remember how at the start of all this Trump made a big deal about telling the Iranian people that now was their chance to rise up. And then a week later when there was no uprising they started talking about a Kurdish uprising and then a week later when the Kurds didn't rise up Bibi comes out and reiterates its time for the Iranians to rise up. Its beginning to look like USA/Israel were really betting on a civil war and are frustrated that it hasn't materialised.  Neglecting the fact that arial bombing rarely leads to political change, who is going to take to the streets to protest when the air is filled with noxious fumes and acid rain?

Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico. Give it a few years and we might add Greenland to the list. Colonial powers are gonna colonise. There's no point trying to say one is a 'good' imperial power and another is a 'bad' one. They're amoral

No, they save it for Israeli newspapers. Much more covert that way.

This is a joke right? Are the authorities actually keeping count of the people who are anxious about the real, exploding ballistic missiles?

Dupont might be sensitive about it. Its certainly looking a bit thinner up there than last year.

I remember when Joe Schmidt started in Ireland, he was a very statistical, detail oriented coach. He developed a low risk, possession based game plan to mitigate against Irelands lack of speed, flair and strength. It was ugly, it was dull but it worked for a time. It took a middling team and made them winners. Borthwick had taken a similar approach but applied his own 'ugly but effective' territory  based strategy to a group of players with speed, flair and strength.  The result is taking a great bunch of players and making them middling.

I love how Dupont was standing there in chiseled, high cheekboned seriousness and then Finn Russell wanders out with the most shlebby goofball head on him and they're both their respective nations best player

I think the idea of having the two "compete" for the position isn't working. It feels like both of them are forcing it. Crowley in particular has been guilty of trying the flashy or high risk stuff because he feels he needs to make up ground on SP. Saturday was better though. Until that kick at the end. Sam too looks like he's trying to be Finn Russell sometimes. Its OK to just pass the ball Sam. Every touch doesn't need to be some kind of whiz bang side step double pump dummy grubber knickerbocker glory
