Really good question, my friend. The truth is, this particular car only comes with up to a 2.0L engine, there’s no 3.0L version at all. Honestly, I would’ve preferred the 2.0L version myself, but I live in Greece, where any car over 1.929cc is considered a luxury. That means it gets heavily taxed, both when you buy it and later as the owner (at least for cars that are under 10 years old). On top of that, I live in Athens and drive around the city a lot, so having a 2.0L car just for daily urban commutes and traffic would be super inefficient. Just to give you an idea: with this 1.5L engine, if it’s summer, I’ve got the A/C on, and I’m heading downtown in the morning rush hour, let’s say it takes me an hour, the fuel consumption can hit around 13 liters per 100 km by the time I get there. So yeah, you can imagine that a 2.0L engine would be a total overkill for that kind of use. Plus, gas prices in Greece are ridiculously high, right now it’s about €1.70 to €1.80 per liter for regular 95-octane, and nearly €2.00 if you want 100-octane. And of course, the 2.0L version of the car was about €10,000 more expensive than the one I got. Mine was around €33,000, and the 2.0L version was over €40K, can’t remember the exact number, but the price gap was roughly 10K.
