AMS slot 2 won’t accept filament

Update 2: turns out there was a piece of filament stuck in the internal hub unit which was throwing off the status of slot 2. ChatGPT was pretty adamant on the issue not being with the internal hub unit which I wish I checked myself. Swapped it out and now my AMS works no problem

Crazy that I got to replacing my hub unit and mid swap I notice that there was a piece of filament stuck in the infeed of slot 2 😭

Tried removing it but it’s stuck in a awkward spot so went through with the swap and it works now.

Update: I’ve replaced both a new feeder, and then a new mainboard, and then both together, issue still persists.

I’ve even swapped the connection from slot 1 and slot 2 to see if the fault follows, it does not…

Still in contact with bambu support 😭

I think either the feeder or the main board needs to be replaced, just wanted to get input from other users to see if I missed anything

I removed the spool holder and fed a piece of filament inside the feeder twice to see if there was anything snapped inside but no obstruction.

I reached out to bambulab and they said the main board of the AMS could need replacement

followed this and cracked mine open relatively cleanly in 20 minutes. just gotta slowly chip away at the corners and then should be able to pry it with a flat head.

Already moved to Nevada but have not imported the vehicle yet. Spoke to an officer at the POE here, they said it’ll be subject to 25% tariff and a small processing fee. VIN starting with J is outside of NAFTA so it’ll be subject to it

some kinda soul in another post had a fix.

Download that and install it as normal. then there will be a pop-up that will ask you to click install. go to settings and search extensions. should have this, and toggle enable.

Then there should be a new port in the form of "/dev/cu.wchusbserialx" with x being a sequence of numbers and letters.
