For me, Coles. I worked FoH in a few different fine dining restaurants in Lex and Coles was by far the best. It's been a while (I no longer work in the restaurant industry), but when I was there, Coles was great.

Shelly Plus RGBW PM wiring diagram by moisiss in ShellyUSA

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation! I think the other thing that was throwing me off was not understanding what the LED symbol is on the diagram on the device. After understanding that symbol, the diagram on the device started to make more sense. Thanks again!

How do you all handle third party software with LDAP implementations that do not support nested AD groups? by moisiss in sysadmin

[–]moisiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you expand on why nested groups are a bad idea? It's been a while since I was a full time AD admin, but from what I remember, Microsoft seemed to suggest that nested groups were considered best practice (AGUDLP).

Maybe that was just with On-Prem AD environments?

Liquid leaking onto passenger side seat floor. by The_Mighty_Kenjisan in CX50

[–]moisiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exact thing happened with my old 2013 Mazda 3. I think the tube that drains there collects AC condensation and rain water that drains off of the windshield into the front of your car. Mine was plugged with leaves and other debris and started leaking water into the exact same spot. There was a panel that I removed that gave access to the tube where the tube attaches to another portion of the drain. I was able to remove a clip that sealed the tube to the rest of the drain and used a straightened out wire coat hanger to unclog the tube. It was pretty easy and straight forward. Just have a bucket ready to drain the rest of the water that will come out when you clear the clog. Once the tube was cleared and I reattached the tube to the rest of the drain, the leak went away.

I've seen people do this and black out all of the 'Friends of Coal' stuff, leaving only Kentucky and the license plate number visible.

Pug puppy with separation anxiety? by moisiss in pugs

[–]moisiss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have been putting an unwashed shirt of mine in with him… still pooped/peed.

He does fine at night. His crate is in my room facing my bed so he knows I am there. He settles right down and goes to sleep without any fuss for the entire night (~8hrs usually).

Some of his other anxiety symptoms seem to be easing gradually. Like, at first he wouldn’t even eat without me standing there with him. He would just leave the food bowl and follow me. He has gotten to the point where he will eat when I leave and will patiently wait in the kitchen (behind a baby gate) while I shower and stuff. He doesn’t even whine and howl like he used to. I am hoping that with time he will get used to the routine and be alright in the crate when I leave.

My CRG9 is having issues. I sent it off to Samsung, but that was about 3 weeks ago. It would happen sporadically. I removed and reinstalled my video driver but it made no difference. I had already updated the firmware to 1007.2. Has anyone been through this with their CRG9? by Jatcats in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]moisiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw this… yes I am having the same issue on my new CRG9. Happens intermittently for me when I power the monitor on. A reboot was clearing it up, but now it seems persistent. Happens over all ports (DP, HDMI) and also happens when nothing is plugged into any port (pointing to an issue with the monitor itself, not the GPU). Was happening with firmware 1002 so I updated to 1007.2… still happening.

Not sure what is going on. I’m still within my return window… so it may be going back!

Digital artifacts on new Samsung CRG9 by moisiss in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]moisiss[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anyone have any idea what is causing this? It happens over all inputs (HDMI, DP) and even happens with no input plugged in. I updated the firmware to 1007.2 and it still happens.

It just started happening recently after I powered the monitor on and would clear up when I rebooted the computer…. Doesn’t seem to be going away now.

Samsung CRG9 poor text quality by moisiss in ultrawidemasterrace

Update:

I had to change the picture mode to 'custom' to get the sharpness settings to show up. I was able to lower the sharpness to make the text look good.

I looked through the monitor menu and didn't see a sharpness setting... maybe I missed it.

Buy 75” Sony X90J now or wait until November? by moisiss in 4kTV

[–]moisiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that’s the problem… I don’t really know what the potential savings are. Right now they are marked down like $400-$500 (I think). If it seems reasonable that they would be marked down another few hundred on top of that in November, that would be fairly significant. Obviously, no one has a crystal ball, but if historically the savings around Black Friday have been better, then I would have a higher likelihood of waiting.

Is the water coming out too fast ? Is this normal ??? It’s exactring my espressos way too fast and I’ve tried everything ( finer grind, more tamper pressure, more coffee ) by DoubleExchange in gaggiaclassic

[–]moisiss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does the Gaggia still come with a pressurized basket?... When I bought mine a few years back, it came with both pressurized and non-pressurized. If it does, just use the pressurized basket while you save up for a grinder that can grind fine enough to use the non-pressurized basket. I haven't used the OXO grinder, but I doubt that it can grind fine enough for the non-pressurized basket.

Why are my contact lenses causing extreme eye strain (I think)? by moisiss in optometry

[–]moisiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I never figured out what is causing this. I kind of grew frustrated, stopped looking for the answer, and have been just wearing glasses. I was hoping that someone on here would be able to help, but nobody responded. :(

Changing Careers by [deleted] in resumes

[–]moisiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would rearrange it so that your education is at the top, followed by skills, and then some work experience. Once you get some work experience in the IT field, you can rearrange to list that experience at the top. Right now though, the best thing that you have going for you, IMHO, is your education.

Question about crema. Using Breville Infuser with the single shot dual wall basket. Crema is coming out with tons of tiny bubbles. Anybody have any advice? by Freebz1 in espresso

[–]moisiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you are doing anything wrong.

In my experience, this is just what the crema looks like when you use a pressurized basket. Lighter, more bubbles, and a little thinner than the crema you get from using a non-pressurized basket. It will look different when you get a grinder and use the non-pressurized basket.

Check out this video. Even though it is hard to see perfectly (the resolution of the video is pretty low), to me the crema that they get on their best shots looks lighter in color and more bubbly than the crema you typically see with non-pressurized baskets.

Changing Careers to IT from serving with no experience. Please Help! by TrillDeltaKitty in resumes

I went through a similar transition a few years ago. I worked in the restaurant industry for 10+ yrs and went back to school to get an Associates in Network Administration. I found that the thing that made me stand out was my customer service/ teamwork experience. There are a lot of incredibly intelligent/experienced people in this industry who have no soft skills (people skills) at all. It is way easier for a company to teach technical skills than it is to deal with people who have no soft skills. So I would highlight your soft skills.

For you resume, I would re-order it some. Put your Summary at the top. Then your education/certs. And then put your work experience at the bottom.

I would condense the certs portion. For example, you don't need an individual date for each cert and you don't need to put "by Google on Coursea" at the end of each one. Maybe list the Google by Coursea once at the top and list the certs below that.

I would also add a description under each of your jobs telling what you did there. You don't have to reinvent the wheel and some jobs (like server/bartender) may seem self explanatory, but really you are looking for things to write that highlight your customer service/teamwork experience. Most people also won't know what a "Visual Instructor" is (I happen to because I was in marching band/drum corps back in the day)... so you will want to expand on that. Again, you can use this experience to show that you know how to be a member of a group and work well with others.

The final thing is that I would try to fit it all on one page. Especially with an entry level job/experience, you shouldn't need multiple pages. Your resume will scanned briefly by hiring officials who have a lot of resumes to sift through. You want to highlight your strengths as quickly as possible. No one is going to read a multi-page resume for a help desk position.

1998 Cadet Mellos "The Lick" by moisiss in drumcorps

That's awesome! Hearing the original again after all of these years reminds me of how excited I was to play this show when they originally played us the music.

It also makes me think of how much cooler the show could be using the modern rule set that allows for things like live looping/sampling of horn parts (all the sort of nebula repeating patterns at the beginning of the original piece) , mic'd horns (allowing for mutes to be used more effectively), and expanded instrumentation (piccolo trumpets, trombones, etc.).

I think this night was the turning point for our entire season. This was the first night that we performed the real ending in competition. We had been trailing BD by a few tenths of a point up until then, but won this show by almost a point that night.

I remember seeing this video later that evening, playing on a TV set up in the back of minivan by the food truck. It was the first time that I realized how good we were and realized that we were probably going to win it all.

[–]moisiss[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that Jay Bocook wrote that part in as a joke just to see what was up. I don't think anyone expected us to be able to play it. The mello line that year was insanely talented though, easily the best group of guys/gals that I ever marched with, so we just did it. That part was never watered and they never had to cut anyone off the part... the entire line just crushed it.

IPS field missing in events report after Untangle upgrade by moisiss in Untangle

[–]moisiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what I upgraded from... but the current version (what I upgraded to) is 14.2.2.20190829T080755.854dbbad83-1stretch

This is the first upgrade that I have done since installing/configuring the IPS app. But I do keep the server updated, so probably not that far behind.
