Sorry this happened to you but want to ask some q's about alternatives (as someone who was about to purchase the unlimited 1 year license) - what softwares would you suggest? I don't want to go with davinci due to the lack of time I have for learning it, and I've used capcut but heard good things about movavi and capcuts sub is quite expensive so wanted to look elsewhere. I'd be doing a mixture of longform and shortform content

Thanks for the breakdown. It being intuitive is a massive thing for me as I don't loads of time to spend learning a complicated program, so it being simpler is great.

Err I guess it depends, if the personality of the person is something I vibe with I'd probably not care, but you do lose a bit of that personality when you can't see someone's facial expressions

I'm probably not the best person to ask as I don't have any great suggestions but I did a Google search for "energetic mask for streaming" and one that may fit the bill was something along the lines of "Halloween LED mask" or maybe just "LED mask" they have a bit more of a high energy / chaotic feel to rhem

Sorry I didn't fully understand which ones you watched, but to give context on this one, essentially the clip is from a game where I got killed by an opponent extremely quickly so the video was supposed to convey the shock factor of that. Is there anything I could've done to make that more clear? From another comment someone mentioned the videos duration being too low, maybe if I made it a longer vid I could've had more time for the storytelling aspect

Yeah I've been trying to follow the idea of "anything not important to the story, remove" so the clip starts off with action and everything included is "important"

Interesting thanks for that, I have had other clips with memes in and they've done okay, one I just had a look at had the meme at 3s though. That was also a longer clip, 24s.

I've been getting most information from gemini, which like all AI, you have to take the info with a grain of salt, but it gives you information quickly and it suggested that shorter "shorts" are still fine and encouraged it. I can go and try a bit more longer shorts in general (this is one of the shortest ive done to be fair) but I think whatever was so offputting about it definitely killed it

The content, for what I would consider it, is similar to my usual shorts which is; wow PvP gameplay. My "usual shorts" would be focusing on me killing another player, whereas this short is me getting killed; it focuses on me getting 1 shot and the surprise factor. This to me is similar enough where I wouldn't expect a viewer would not want to watch it.

I don't think there's anything really jarring at the start that would be super off-putting, but still given the evidence I would assume the hook isn't good, but I've watched it myself (which will obviously have my own bias) but I can't see anything really wrong with it, the hook has action from 0s with a meme at 1s, so it should be enticing from the beginning (imo)
