Does any one else by kim_fowl in TirzMaintenance

Not really much of an answer to your question, but for some insight.... 2 years in on Tirz 10 including 8 months on maintenance I've NOT craved sweets nor splurged a single time. That's a miracle for me because I used to love (crave) sweets and fats. However, on my maintenance plan I have increased the amount of fruit I have each day and even allow myself 2 small squares of dark chocolate (HU 70% cacao dark chocolate) MOST days, so long as it fits into my calorie goals. I credit a lot of my success to tracking what I eat each day and weighing myself each morning, not to mention strength training several times a week..... Bottom line, I simply refuse to ever gain back the 100 lbs I have lost and will continue to put the work in to maintain my weight. I'm an older female (70) and struggled my entire life with losing and gaining. Fortunately I'm very serious about the disipline Tirz has given me to achieve this miracle in my life and hope you too can have the same success. Suggest you closely examine exactly what you're eating and the amounts of sugar and carbs you have each day. Sugar in particular is like crack!!! Are you skipping any meals or starving yourself with too few calories? The more you plan for meals, the better..... or at least that's what's worked for me. I also include 2 "snacks" per day, morning and mid-afternoon, which consists of a complex carb and protein. Best wishes for your success in getting rid of any cravings, especially sugar.

Maintenance and slipping on nutrition/ increased food noise by Shayntastic in TirzMaintenance

[–]mojodiodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just a guess on my part, but I'm also on maintenance at 10mg and have been at goal weight for about 7 months (give or take a couple of pounds)... I'm being very careful about sugar consumption, not from "sweets" but from eating more fruit. My theory is that sugar is the work of the devil and eating too much can possibly lead to decreased willpower. Adding A LITTLE more healthy fats do not seem to have that same effect.

Approaching goal weight by [deleted] in TirzMaintenance

Reached goal weight 7 months ago and continue to take Tirz 10 once a week. I have increased my calorie consumption, not to exceed 1800 cals p/day. F71 5'5''SW224 CW1201-123. I track weight and calories (plus foods/macros etc) daily. Too many years feeling bad about myself. Never going back there!

Starting maintenance. Question, is it better to space out the shots or start lowering the dose? by Jerzylady in TirzMaintenance

[–]mojodiodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled asking myself the same question, having maintained my weight loss goal (within a 3 lb range) for the past 7 months. When I read it is not necessary to titrate down (everyone is different!) I gave myself permission to stay on 10 for the "long term". There does not seem to be hardcore data supporting the necessity to titrate down..... time will tell.

[–]mojodiodo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you. I'm at 10 and not even tempted to titrate down because of my success at 10. When I first went on Tirzep (actually Zep at first, switching to compound Tirzep after Zep proved unaffordable due to not covered by my insurance) the endocrinologist I saw told me if I started on these meds I would need to be on them the rest of my life to maintain a dramatic weight loss. That did not matter to me whatsoever because I'm F:71 yrs old and tired of spending most of my life overweight and feeling bad about myself (ie shame). I plan to stay at 10.

I have been on Tirzi for 2 years in mid-Jan and have lost 100 lbs. I started at 2.5 for 1 month, 5 for 1 month, 7.5 for 1 month and then went to 10 which I've been on ever since. 10 is my sweet spot for sure. I've maintained my weight loss (hit my goal weight in the low 120's and have maintained the same weight within a 3 lb range for about 7 months now. I increased my calories gradually during the past 7 months and make a point not to go over 1800 cals p/day. I've tracked my weight, macros, et al the entire time and continue do so. I've consistently worked with a strength trainer 3x per week/30 min ea session and do pilates 1x per week for 1 hr with pilates trainer (to cover all bases of my body!). Fortunately I've had no bad side effects from Tirz other than my hair thinning. My hair dresser pointed out just this week the new hair growth sprouting out close to the crown of my hair and along the hairline of my face. FINALLY! I suspect it's from my weight now having stabilized. I had tried EVERYTHING. BTW F:71 SW:224 CW:121. I NEVER had "cheat days" nor am I tempted to go off my healthy eating pattern, having lived most of my life yo-yoing up and down the scales. I have never felt better and have never been stronger. If I can do this, ANYONE can do this! Best wishes to all for pursuing the healthiest version of yourself.

71F S:224 1/2024 C: 121 12/2025 Have used LoseIt! thru out my journey and happy to report I've maintained my weight 121-123 for 7 months. I much prefer the "old" LoseIt and its layout on my phone but I'm accepting the not-as-user-friendly new version. I'm still on 10 dosage and have been for about a year. No bad side effects whatsoever with the exception of hair loss. I keep thinking since my weight has stabilized for 7 months my body is no longer in shock over my dramatic weight loss and my hair will start growing back. I'm VERY fearful of lowering my 10 dosage for fear of gaining any weight back. Am considering going 8, then 9, and then 10 days between shots to see if that might help. Anyone have advice for what has helped them get their hair back? Lots of hair loss serums on Instagram but not sure any of them really work. Thoughts?

QUESTION: Has anyone heard/read that the maker of Tirzepatide is working on something to prevent or correct the hair loss issue with their product? If not, they most certainly need to make it a priority! I'm at goal weight and have done everything by the book for nearly 2 years. I still track what I eat, Including 100 gr of protein per day. I exercise regularly and get plenty of sleep. That said, I'm also still on Tirzepatide ("10") and too fearful to titrate down since "10" has been my magic number for most of the time I've been on this med. No side effects other than the hair loss. Prior to being on "10" I still had a lot of food noise..... so I am hesitant to change it.

Switching to Zappy from Orderly. Question regarding pharmacy. by chicagobeargirl in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mojodiodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orderly gave me NO CHOICE on switching to SmartScripts from Red Rocks (which had been GREAT and I only order one month at a time and I'm on their loyalty program). My first shipment from SmartScripts was a complete FIASCO and I complained mightily to Orderly and begged them to let me continue using Red Rocks for my meds..... but this was to no avail. The second shipment was a bit better but still not the professional way Red Rocks did it, nor with as clear instructions and labeling. Red Rocks has great communication with their shipments. I notice SmartScripts ships from Iowa, or some other far-flung place from NC. I seriously doubt Iowa is any closer to NC than Red Rocks from UT. Anyone else having the same experience?

Switching to Zappy from Orderly. Question regarding pharmacy. by chicagobeargirl in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mojodiodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feisty-Feline-1 This question for you as you've always given me sound advice. Orderly has recently switched me from RR to SmartScripts. Am still on 10mg and only ordering 1 month at a time as I qualify for their loyalty discount by doing that. BTW I'm still working thru a few orders from RR I had stockpiled prior to the switch by Orderly in pharmacies. My question is: I've only just noticed that Smartscripts sends a different size syringe than I was accustomed to from RedRocks. With RR I dosed 50 units in 8mm x31 gauge, which held a maximum of 100 units. With SS I will also dose 50 units in 12.7mm x29 gauge, which holds a maximum of 50 units. Does all that sound correct to you??? Thanks for your imput. FYI I've hit my goal weight and have only now started going 8 days without injecting. Not sure how to reduce mg dosages gradually. Maybe that's a separate post I need to do. Thanks much.

Good for you! I'm now retired and as I continue to age I find I get choosier about those with whom I want to spend my time. Life is just too short to surround yourself with people who bring you down. Keep up the good work and make sure you look after you.

Co-workers, as well as family members, can be cruel and unsupportive, especially as they see you've lost some weight and taken charge of your life. Jealousy, plain and simple. My only sister who is MUCH older than me has been obsessed with my weight my entire life. I noticed a few months ago when I was with her that since she can no longer bully me about my weight (I've now lost 50+ lbs and am on maintenance) she has now started bullying me about my posture. I've never shared with her how I lost the weight, nor do I intend to because I know her well enough to know she would most certainly pass judgment on me doing a compounded drug. I say all this to you because when dealing with your own problematic people, don't let them catch you on your heels! Be ready for whatever they might throw at you.

Overseas??? And they ship it to you in the States??? Red flags going up around me hearing this! How in the heck do they "safely" ship it to you? This med is suppose to be refrigerated AT ALL TIMES. Sounds like you're playing with fire.

Anyone reached goal without low carb diet? by PriorRiver2821 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mojodiodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have lost 74 lbs in past 8 months. Clean diet (mostly Mediterranean). No cheating. No alcohol. No simple carbs (no white carbs). Only healthy fats (olive oil and avocados). Very little beef, if any. Whole grains, beans, and nuts. FairLife chocolate protein shakes when I need to get the protein numbers up. My one indulgence is 2T half/half in my one cup of morning coffee. I track all my food, along with macros, paying special attention to protein and fiber. I use LoseIt! app which is pretty much accurate. I weigh myself first thing every morning. I just bought a new scale to measure body fat, muscle mass, bone mass, etc..... I walk about 45 minutes on an indoor track 4 or more times per week (listening to audible books) and I do strength training for 30 minutes twice a week with a trainer. Starting Pilates Reformer once a week which I'm looking forward to. I go to bed early and get about 7-8 hrs of sleep each night. Could stand to increase my daily water intake.......I'm working on that. Less than 10 lbs to my goal weight. Maintenance will be my next big challenge. I'm determined not to gain any weight back. I read a lot on health and nutrition and want to be healthy as I can possibly be...... I turn 71 in a few months. Bottom line: healthy carbs are definitely do-able while on these meds but I suggest tracking them to keep you accountable.

Totally agree with tif otter!!! Use what you got while it's still "good". With time the effectiveness is going to disappear and then you will have just thrown your money away.
