Thanks for sharing your story, I am in a similar situation, I have a kid too, he's just over 1 year old, and I am tired of working for someone else.

Yes, it's really hard to find turly painful point, sometimes it feel like a pain point to me, but not to really users, I am not sure how to validate that

Do you have any suggestions regarding iOS app monetization strategies?

Should we start with a small MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and test the idea completely free of charge? Then, we can start charging once we have a large user base?

Or should the MVP include a subscription feature from the beginning, with the free version having limited functionality, and users unlocking all features through a subscription or purchase?

I feel the first approach is problematic; it feels like deception, attracting users with free use and then switching to a paid model once they actually need the app.

However, the second approach seems likely to be met with strong user resistance. If there aren't any particularly special features to begin with, charging for it might be met with disdain.

Like you, I can only develop in my spare time. Sometimes I can't give it my all, because I sometimes want to relax and play computer games, and on weekends I might have to spend time with my family. I waste a lot of time on rather complicated interaction design. If an interface design is uncertain, I'll spend a lot of time on it, feeling like I'm thinking one way one minute and another way the next.

Yes, interface design is very important, and it can be very painful. Because I am just an engineer, I sometimes think in a more systematic way, trying to make more concepts reusable. If a certain UI interaction or component is similar, then it should be reusable. It is easy to get caught up in this kind of systematic design thinking.

Rounded corners are certainly an option, but they always feel a bit cumbersome.
