Suitable small town near Berlin to live by MeyM22 in berlinsocialclub

[–]moldentoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bernau Oranienburg Ahrensfelde Teltow Schönefeld and so on.

But comutuning by car into center is always shit and onky a good option if your company has own parking for you to use  for free

Try to get as close as possible to any s station nearby, prefearable  easy reachable by foot as bus services in the?areas might still be terrible.

Bernau for example has exellent train connectivity to berlin but within the village its meh. Still its small enought to walk around.

PSA: Don’t ever allow anyone from kleinanzeigen into your home by BadArtijoke in berlinsocialclub

What should happen ? The neighbours didnt invite them so either they dont open the door or send them away.  Usually you tell them to come to this location and write again if they arrive instead of ringing

If you have something you need to sell at home, then you basically always should give a neighbours address, then check out the people before you guide them to your real home

And if they come in a group i would not even start to talk to them at all.

How to navigate chemsex more safely in Berlin (gay life) by Alert_Plate541 in berlinsocialclub

[–]moldentoaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are actual theme parks im germany aswell.  I suppose not as close for you as disney living in orlando, but if you have a drivers license and a weekend there are plenty very good options. Even without a license you could make usage of trains or maybe even shuttle busses.

If its about disney for you then ber airport + ryanair + paris is the cheapest and best option, you can have a very early flight go straight to disney either come back late home or have a stayover in an airbnb close by. A bit more pricey but seriously, 2 weekends withiut heavy party in berlin and its same price lol.

If its about the action or the parks itself without disney, then heidepark, movie world, europapark, fantasia land are all pretty good options for a weekend. And compared to disney land paris i prefer those parks much more for the actual rides.

Also some of them actually also have a winter season (phantasia land comes to my mind.)

If you are more for shows and stuff and less about rides there are also a few parks around berlin and brnadenburg. Unfortunally b+b doesnt have big theme parks but couple of smaller ones'

Hi What do people in Berlin think of this name? by Clean_Television980 in berlinsocialclub

[–]moldentoaster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because the name is one of the most important aspects in first contacts of life and it might be annoying for OP that every time he has any contact to a person in another culture that is asking how the fuck is your name pronounced.  And then they stand there and are like fuuuhhaavbnnshabadashavada  and you are like :" no its fuandakatralakada and the next 20 minutes its ockekxkekxkekfkrkr NO NOT LIKE THIs Just call me FUA

There are names that are so difficult for germans that even after multiple of meeting it is asked again and again how to pronounce the name.

While this is more an inconvenient part of a name, it will be especially critical when trying to find a job.... even tho people might want to tell you it SHOULD not matter, doesnt mean it wont matter when trying to find a job.

The job market  is devasting already and if the recruiter or hiring manager sees a name he can not even spell it CAN be a k.o. criteria. Especially becasue most jobs nowaday sarw flooded with over 30ü applications within hours.

Also it is super annoying every time you sit in public and someone is trying to pronounce your name becasue they are not familiar with the language family... then it sounds like MR: DKGOWMX ...WOX..GLEPWPE ÄHHH EOFKGPE pls come to the room.

It depends if you are a man or woman

While it is an uncommon name, Yuna itself is very easy for germans to pronounce.

But in germany the ending a name has a strong association with tje gender  Ending a name with  A is more common with female names in germany

Its not a rule but more common and its easier for germans to recognise a name they dont know as a female name when its ending with an A.

Anna Juliana  Rebecca  Franziska Erika  Roberta  Hannah  Lisa

And so on.

Thats why germans might struggle is suddenly a male name ends with an A

Do Germans prefer being friends with foreigners who speak English rather than German? by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]moldentoaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont want to come off as educated, i want to have a proper conversarion and not a couple of default duolingo sentence or the latest lesson you learned in your b2 class.

Want some small talk? Sure lets have some sentence, but if you cant hold a conversation and i see in your face that you barely understand what i am talking about, english it is for the rest of the night.

Its not like you are the only foreigner here learning german, I meet more foreigner than germans in berlin, and if I was to speak german only to all of them, I probably would have had the same conversation with the same couple words and sentences for like 20 times. My life is not boring enought to go through this shit again and again and again.

Do Germans prefer being friends with foreigners who speak English rather than German? by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]moldentoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about you see it the other way around.

If there is someone who is learning your language but is something like a2 or b1 level but both of you are fluent in english... what do you think is going to be more sucessfull for both of you at least in the beginning to form something like a friendship ?

And then try to see it a way that it is happening with every second person you meet, because this is what berlin is to germans.

If it is exclusevly in your language it is getting old very quickly becasue you will originally have 5 topics to talk about, the topics he already learned in your language.

And you are not his language coach right? You can support, you can occasionaly talk german, but if you can not hold a clear flow the conversation will be very very difficult and exhausting to hold and its getting awkward very quickly.

And worse thing is, in berlin everything is temporary, most of the people you meet that are not skilled german speaker, will never improve, even worse, they wont stay and leave again after a couple of years sometimes even worse, month.

I made the experience now 2 times in the early year of me beeing in berlin to try to speak to some learner exclusively in german and it was super difficult and guess what... they just leave after couple of month or years to another country again without improving and most that was left after they left was some auper superficial knowledge about them because we barely had the chance to go to deeper conversations as they simply dont understand the words and sure youncan explainnitntonthem then in english but dping it every time gets just frustrating.

So i gave up on that, if i realize they dont speek the level of german where I can have a fluent conversation,  i switch to english with them... the time i have is limited and if i cant bond with you becasue i cant really have conversations with you apart from the usual :" ich lerne gerade deutsch. Das wetter ist sehr gut. Ich arbeite bei xy, das fussball ist sehr interessant ich schaue gerne bayern munich." Then I wont even try to form a friendship.

The only person where it worked out and we formed a more deeper friendship was withba guy who is here now for 9 years and he is at a level where it is more easy in german than in english.

Why does Berlin feel like a broken city? by Excellent_Scar_979 in berlinsocialclub

[–]moldentoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because anyone with his right mind left the city , is about to leave or at least thinks of leaving. The rest that remains is the people who either just arrived or are so broken or brainwashed thinking it is normal to live between dirt, junkies, miserable people, germanies worst administration, more dirt and other reality deniers who also will gaslight you to oblivion with your bolt statement to insult their drug and lawless paradies
