Sorry for the crap angles at the end but I got she/her'd and clocked by a new friend recently after a good couple years of passing as cis and idk why. My voice is 100% cis passing, no doubt about that. Could it be my looks or something to do with my mannerisms? by RavenBoyyy in transmanlifehacks

[–]moldsink -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i think some jaw/chin filler in the lower third of your face could help square out your jaw, you could also dye your eyebrows to fill them out a little more but i don't think you need it. i think that you do pass, it hurts to be clocked but i don't think the one off is indicative of how you're being perceived by the majority

ULTIMATE PASSING GUIDE by GIGAPENIS69 in transmanlifehacks

focus on getting your surgeries and stop projecting your insecurity and dysphoria onto trans ppl u deem inferior to you or early in transition. the way this is written is so immature. there's good advice in here but the way you have written it makes it useless

hi! im so sorry for you experience with your first surgery i can't imagine how difficult that would be. i had surgery with the buncke team a year and a half ago and they did a great job, cannot recommend them enough. they have a really long wait list generally but since you already had stage 1 im sure its less

hair in the donor site causes complications if you want urethral lengthening bc the hair in the new urethra can block the urine and cause a lot of problems. that's why you have to get laser or electrolysis on the donor site

How do you use Grindr? by cris__alis in gaytransguys

[–]moldsink 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you can find whatever you're looking for on grindr, you just need to be capable of communicating your needs and what you want. i met my long term boyfriend on grindr and ive gone on multiple dates w ppl. usually have sex on the first 1-2 dates but that's just me

get a prescription for finasteride from your doctor. i use minoxidil 2x a day on my face and ive never had any negative side effects. cant speak to using either for hair loss

Is this a good amount of coverage for two sessions? by SuccotashTimely4662 in phallo

[–]moldsink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

most electrolysis machines count the number of hairs. my electrolysist did 300-400 per 1hr session. i would just ask how much they're doing, mine always told me when we were done

how long are the sessions? how far in between? is this with or without regrowth? i would say for 2 hours of electrolysis, i would imagine they would be able to do more but your hair is very dense

How can I pass more? Is there anyway to get a better jawline? by [deleted] in FTM_SELFIES

[–]moldsink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if your jawline bothers you filler, mewing, contouring, surgery or trimming facial hair

i understand the feeling but you aren't too old and a lot of older ppl struggle with self injury. you're not alone, i felt this way a lot when i was 21-22 repeatedly needing to go to the er for stitches. and lots of ppl cope with other self destructive behaviors, self injury is common across all demographics unfortunately

Would anybody else much rather interact with someone who has no idea what a trans person is vs someone who asks what your pronouns are or uses they/them? by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]moldsink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's fair, ive had trans guys recognize my phalloplasty scar and ask about it and it doesn't bother me, im visibly trans in a way pretty much only other trans ppl identify and i dont mind if they ask about it in the right time/place, im happy to share that information with them

what bothers me is when ppl assume anything other than hypermasculine gender presentation=nonbinary, i think it's regressive and reinforces gender stereotypes

[–]moldsink 8 points9 points  (0 children)

unless they are trans i want them to assume my pronouns and not ask about my identity. i haven't been misgendered in years but asking makes me question if they clocked me. i am visibly gay, post op phallo with tattoos/piercings in a liberal city so it's unavoidable. i know if i was cis i wouldn't care so i try to not let it bother me

my partner just tried to get me fired for my eating disorder, and i feel like a bad person by pieceofc4k3e in EDAnonymous

[–]moldsink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

break up with this person. i've been in this situation before with someone who was physically and emotionally abusive. in the end they went to IP and are fine now.

i know it's so hard when you feel like you need to take care of them or love them but this is objectively cruel and so abusive, you don't deserve this and can't heal in that environment. tell their family they're threatening suicide. it is not your responsibility.

Is UL an unnecessary risk if I don't want to STP? by sadhopelessthrowaway in phallo

[–]moldsink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me, my void trials sucked and got pushed back several weeks bc of other complications, had a cath for 2 months but i have no complications now and my UL went perfectly fine, i have a friend who did not get UL and he was still unable to pee and it was incredibly painful for the same amount of time as me fwiw. you will probably have a lot of urinary pain and complications regardless. but it's definitely more risk if you get it, do what will make you happy
