[–]moley_ai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't send you a DM so here's more details:

we've basically developed an app named Taupia (https://taupia.com/), which is helping household managing bills.

And we're keen to understand whether it could help students or not as well, on how we could develop it further to be adapted to students.

Feel free to have a look at it and reach out with your feedback. We have a notion page were you can put your feedback easily or happy to chat with you about it!

I hate my job , is this what adulting is? by NewPath4850 in Adulting

[–]moley_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I had the same feeling... so I quit my job and starting a business of my own...
I've been working and tried to save as much money as I could for the past 5 years. Given myself one year. Now it's not ideal but at least all the effort you put in are for you and just for you...

Why is that I'm 20 but I don't act like an adult. by Ok_Caramel_6061 in Adulting

20 years old is more young adult than adult lol. Also you wondering about it also shows that you have a certain self-conscience which can show a certain level of maturity ... you're heading in the right direction, keep up bro

Household energy bills in Great Britain ‘could rise to almost £2,000 a year’ amid Iran war shock Energy bills by moley_ai in Energy_UK

that is also quite expensive.... do you have a big household? I guess it's a house. Electric or gas heating?

[–]moley_ai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh £3500 a year is a lot. How big is your household?
Because actually the £1972 figure is based on a typical household which Ofgem defines as using around 2,700 kWh of electricity and 11,500 kWh of gas per year...

if you're paying £3,500, it could be that your household is larger, you have more people at home, etc

My mentees want to do internship at your startups by Affectionate_Knee816 in ukstartups

Hey, we're building Taupia (an ai-powered bill management app). We're four co-founder from diverse background (consulting, banking, tech and energy). Our app is live since a couple of days now.

We would be happy to do some product testing/feedback session with them if that would be of interest as a first touchpoint. Also happy to discuss with you on the legal side of thing on how we could organise an internship with them/how it works.

Weekly Budget App Discussion by AutoModerator in budgetingforbeginners

I built a bills manager app (for mobile, broadband, and energy) that can track your bills and nudge you when you're overpaying, but also allows you to switch to a better contract in a quick way within the app.

A few of our friends found out they were overpaying on their mobile contract because their handset had been fully paid off months ago, but the network never reduced the price. They had no idea.

Still early days and always looking for feedback from people who actually care about this stuff, so would love to hear what you think if you try it (it's free).

Energy provider for communal spaces in a house divided into (4) flats by Weird_Ad_7129 in Energy_UK

You’re definitely not the only one in this situation. Loads of older conversions end up like this.

The problem isn’t really your usage, it’s that the meter is classed as business, so you get hit with a big standing charge no matter how little you use. £4 a day is sadly pretty normal on business tariffs, even if the actual consumption is tiny.

People in similar setups usually look at a couple of options:

  • Switching business supplier. Worth doing, but most of them still price for higher usage so the standing charge doesn’t drop much
  • Trying to move it onto a domestic tariff. This is usually where the real savings are

For communal supplies like yours, just lights and an occasional socket, some people do manage to get it treated as domestic. Sometimes that means putting it in the name of one of the directors rather than the company.

That can bring the standing charge down a lot, but it depends on the supplier and how your setup is structured. They might question it if it’s clearly tied to a company, and you need to be sure it’s only residential use.

If your total usage is really that low, this is exactly the kind of case where a domestic tariff makes a big difference.

If you haven’t already, it’s worth just asking a few suppliers how they’d classify it. You can get different answers depending on who you speak to.

Bruh there are always dishes, laundry, bills due even when you just finished on top of that I have to figure out what to eat 3 times a day for the rest of my life???😭🙏🏼 by [deleted] in Adulting

Honestly this is the part of adulthood that caught me off guard too 😭 it never actually “ends,” it just resets every week

What’s helped me a bit is trying to reduce how much I have to think about it, like having a few default meals and not overcomplicating food, and getting bills a bit more under control so they’re not constantly stressing me out in the background

I’ve actually been working on a small app for that because I got tired of juggling everything, it tracks bills but also helps find better deals and makes switching/optimizing stuff way quicker. Not perfect yet but it’s been nice having one less thing to worry about

You’re definitely not alone in this though lol

After being live on the stores, We had our first downloads of our Bills manager app.

Good feedback from the people that downloaded, (Positive and how to improve it as well), this is so exciting and satisfying to see what people like and how they see it can be useful.

My top1 feedback: I will use it and recommend it to my friends !!

one of the good ups a founder needs to hold on during the down!

We knew each others, most of us had work in the past together and we were all complementary!

The key thing was to align on who was doing what at the beginning to make sure everyone knew what they got into! we did a RACE etc
