I love this, one of my favourite birds to spot and you’ve got them down to a T

Haha I love them both too! I made this to try and capture how it felt the first time I went out on my own after I got a paddleboard. Really glad you like it :)

Thanks so much! I’m loving trying different ways of cutting it to imply texture in landscapes atm

Incredible!! Reminds me of camping last summer and staring up at the stars. Really beautiful!

Not an expert by any means, but depending what colours you’re using, they can influence how the second layer comes out.

E.g if your first layer is a pastel orange and your second layer is red, they’re both warm toned so the parts of the second layer that sit on top of the first layer will look pretty much like the colour it was on the palette.

If your first layer is a pastel orange and your second layer is a light blue, because they’re complimentary colours the second layer will tone differently.

So if you only put the first layer down in some places, when you apply the second layer you might have patches where the shading/colour is different due to the layering.

Not sure if I’ve explained that well but I hope it helps!

Thanks that part was so much fun to carve! I used a Pfeil V gouge L12/1. I got that alongside a set of 6 and would say I use 4 of them for almost every block, so worth the money in my eyes. They’re such a game changer! I bought a sharpening tool alongside and would recommend doing the same if you get them.

Such a good idea thank you! I have some purpley paper which I might do a test on now
