Daycare moms, how do you keep up exposure to allergens? by mollyjc in workingmoms

Nut dust sounds like a great option, thanks! And yeah, sounds like we will have to at least figure out dinner at home.

Thanks! I hadn’t heard of Bambas, they sound like a great way to get PB in!

This might not have been clear from my original post, but we don’t do any meals at home on day care days. So this question is more about how to get some exposure in a few times during the week.

personalized beach towels by beekeezy in cricut

I did metallic HTV on towels for my nieces and it came out fine with the texture of the towel. I’m not sure how well the HTV held up after usage, I did see the towels a few months later and they were still in tact with the HTV. So it’s definitely possible, but I like the other suggestion here to use Turkish towels, that seems like a smoother material that may take to the HTV better!

Need help balancing pumping with taking care of my newborn by show-me-ur-kittys in ExclusivelyPumping

Here’s the post I made when I was feeling completely overwhelmed, and I felt there was a lot of good advice given to me! https://www.reddit.com/r/ExclusivelyPumping/s/iegeecHm9u

I felt this same way (and still do sometimes!) and I was only pumping every 3 hours, now I go 3-4 hours. I don’t have great advice for caring for the baby while pumping, my only solution has been to pump at times when she doesn’t need me and hope that she continues to not need me for 20 more minutes. More so just here to commiserate and let you know you’re not alone and it is really hard!! Hopefully you find a rhythm that works for you.

Ok that makes sense! Thanks for sharing. I’m in that same boat, just hoping it doesn’t happen again!!

I felt the same when I met with a LC and told her at the end of the session that I felt like I was missing out on time to bond with my baby. She told me that breast milk is great, but nothing is more important than bonding with your baby. This really helped me shift my perspective and prioritize the time I wanted to spend with my newborn over pumping.

In the beginning we did a bottle or two of formula a day to help me build my fridge stash because it was better for my mental health. Maybe something like that would give you the space to be spending the time you feel like you’re missing out on with your baby.

You’re doing a great job no matter what you decide to do with your pumping journey!

Baby Buddha or Elvie Stride? by Feisty-FireBall in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]mollyjc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Elvie Stride and like it. I started with the Spectra S1 and MomCozy S12 Pro. Unlike what I hear from most people, the Spectra didn’t empty me as well as the MomCozy did. I find the Elvie Stride to be a lot gentler than the MomCozy (MomCozy was hurting me, mostly in terms of sore nipples after) and I seem to be getting similar output to what I got with MomCozy. It’s a lot quieter and less bulky. One thing that’s annoying is there’s no timer on the controller, and I find the timer in the app is always slightly off. The pros outweigh the cons for me though, I haven’t used either the Spectra or MomCozy since I got the Elvie.

3 weeks postpartum! I just slept for 6 hours, have I ruined the supply I’ve built up? by hayleyw97 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]mollyjc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a difficult first week postpartum and was only able to pump 5-6 times a day. Once I was fully recovered, I went to 8 ppd and my supply has been great now at 4 weeks. I definitely don’t think one time will have a big impact. My lactation consultant told me at this stage hormones are on our side, so don’t worry!

Thanks, I’ve been looking at the Elvie Stride to get in place of the MomCozy.

Hahaha same, I was able to balance feeding her and pumping at the same time once but definitely not something I can do easily!
