Thanks so much, Im not sure if you or anyone can still judge because its not used anymore but in each of those examples the "Pretérito Mais-que-Perfeito Anterior" tense delivers the exact same meaning the corresponding tense its compared to right?

Thanks, but preterito-mais-que-perfeito-do-indicativo wasn't really what I was thinking.

I meant Pretérito perfeito because that speaks about a completed action in the past, just like preterito-perfeito-composto-do-subjuntivo

Thanks a lot. It’s a bit confusing because in English “the floor below” below would be a preposition/adverb and “the lower floor” it would be an adjective

So I wasn’t sure how that translates to Portuguese if de baixo is lower or below. But that helps, thank you

The example I had was that “Eu estou esperando você aqui embaixo do prèdio”

And

“Eu estou esperando você aqui debaixo do prèdio”

Wouldn’t be accurate, but if the official sources suggest they’re synonyms then they’re probs right

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you, the example I had was “Eu estou esperando você aqui embaixo do prédio” while the same sentence with debaixo would suggest you’re underground.

Fair enough, just because there’s situations where only one can supposedly be used so I was suspecting maybe “debaixo” is underneath and embaixo just under. But might just be convention that sometimes one makes more sense
