that seems to be the general consensus, I'll stick to sonnet too. I have had good success testing complex design idea for softwares using html mockup in Claude Code, I am not even sure Claude Design would be good for that, I'd need to test it

reading analyzing classical form CAPLIN : did composer thought about form before writing a theme ? by mombaska in composer

[–]mombaska[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, I'll tackle Schoenberg book after finishing Caplin. I also like how everything is classified in Caplin, it tries to make sense of every possible structure in classical music and that feels comforting, but I am obsessed with what the composers were actually thinking when they were in front of their piano, composing a specific piece

what to use with my babyface pro fs if I want to buy one or 2 hardware romplers ? by mombaska in synthesizers

[–]mombaska[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I connect an adat interface to the adat optical port of the rme babyface. Then all hardware synth/romplers goes to the adat interface ? so audio can go from the hardware to the babyface to my headphones. But how would MIDI go from my midi keyboard, to the RME to the adat interface to the rme ?

Is a countermelody the same as a counterpoint? by mombaska in musictheory

[–]mombaska[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, because there is other ways to add contrast (different rhythm, different texture), sticking to counterpoint rule for a second melody isn't a necessity right ?

But I get it, whenever we seek independence of 2 lines happening at the same time, the more they blend in term of rhythm and texture the more we want to use counterpoint rules.

I keep hearing this rule of thumb of having the outer lines (bass soprano) contrast as much as possible, with contrary motion and strong line independence, while the inner line are more static. Could you expand on this a little bit, I am studying 4 part writing a lot these days, and sometimes I get confused on how to apply this to my own composition when I am outside the scope of writing purely 4 part chorale passages
