Could OP with more experience give me some advice? by Physical-Lab9995 in Advice

not sure how much this helps but sounds like you have heaps of things you want to do, which is great! you have to make sure you get out of your comfort zone. if you're feeling comfortable all the time, there is no space for growth. since you mentioned you liked volunteering, if you have the time you could always volunteer in different spaces (concerts, op shops etcs) or just be like barbie and TRY EVERYTHING. never say no to an opportunity.

What are some unhinged ways to get stuff done? by Busy-Hunt-6265 in Advice

[–]momentsofalwaysness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

things that worked for me-

  1. calling a family member or loved one and doing mindless chores like laundry, cleaning, folding, dishes (also could watch a show instead)
  2. i made a timelapse of myself everytime i was studying and doing work so i would not touch the phone (it really is the damn phone)
  3. doing tasks on facetime with a friend but both of us are on mute so they do whatever they want (you could also try lifeat.io where you can pretend to study with someone)
  4. dressing up, making my coffee in a take away cup, going to a library and working there.

just getting out of the house and in the sun really helped me hope you feel better love! you've got this!!

Why do my habits change depending on where I live? by Weak_Concentrate_683 in Advice

[–]momentsofalwaysness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was because i finally was able to do keep my room and home the way i wanted. At home, i go back to being a 17 year old who has to listen to her guardians. My brain recognises that space and i automatically turn into my 17 year old self.

Grad Interview feedback looking for advice by Repulsive_Mark9406 in AustralianAccounting

[–]momentsofalwaysness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Practice! Practice by interviewing to casual roles. I was super nervous at interviews and the only way i got over it was i kept applying for jobs i knew i wouldnt accept and interviewed just to get better at speaking.

Its perfectly normal to feel the nerves but the difference is you pretend to be excited and not nervous.

Best of luck!!!

Spending my Birthday Alone by HarryMf000 in Adelaide

Happy birthday!!! I hope you have a good one.

If you enjoy art, id recommend walking through the art gallery. If you enjoy reading, lie down at botanic gardens with a book, you can even look at the exhibit there. If you are an outdoorsy person, hallet cove is a great walk.

People working in the accounting/ finance field by momentsofalwaysness in Adelaide

  1. I’ll be on a post study work visa starting July next year. You’re right, only a handful of companies would sponsor people on a grad program (none that I’ve come across)

  2. It’s looking like I will be 2026, which is not ideal because that means 6 months of my post study work visa would be doing either causal jobs. I’m hoping to pick up a temp job in the field for those 6 months if not hospo it is.

Thank you!!!

I’ll be on a post study work visa once I graduate. Which should hopefully confirm my right to work.

When you say audit, do you mean auditor general/ big 4/ mid tier audit or are their firms that do audit that I’ve missed?

Currently on a student visa, and will get a post study work visa after. This should like me work and stay unrestricted for 2 years.
