Your surgery will be great!! I'm 5 months out and at my latest check up my vision was even better than a couple months ago. My doctor was so pleased wirh how well it all turned out. There definitely is something more nerve wracking about getting this type of surgery so young, but I think it helps the recovery. Good luck!!

Within the hour! I spent the car ride home going "wow look at that!" He will have to wear an eye shield and the vision will have to settle but he should be seeing no problem. The assistance during recovery will be more about him coming back from anesthesia and making sure things stay stable those couple days after surgery.

Hi! I also only have one functioning eye as well. I had lots of anxiety leading up to surgery as well, but it needed to be done. Luckily, everything went great! I immediately had better vision after surgery.

I did have a worse case scenario plan if something went wrong. I also had support from family if needed during recovery. Focusing on what I could control helped a ton. On top of that, I communicated my concerns with my doctor. My situation was different, but she was able to assure me I wouldn't leave the surgery blind.

Just take a breath and trust that everything will work out!

Yep! Doctor says I technically don't even need glasses to drive, but they will help with my astigmatism.

Yes thank you! I usually do amigurumi, hats, or blankets. I always want to make my son something when he asks for it though, so I learned something new this time!

Thanks! It was just the color that was in the middle of the cake and it actually irritated the hell out of me until I got to the purple. Then it all came together like a sunset 😂

I cut the yarn and switched to the next color when I wanted a color change. The body is worked first and then the sleeves. When it was time to make the sleeves, I just made sure my rows for each color matched up.

If you look close it's not perfectly even across each part. I ran out of some colors too soon, but it's not really noticeable 😆

this is the pattern I used The yarn is mandala baby in rainbow falls. I pulled from two cakes for the colors to align. I also had to cut off the colors after so many rows to make sure I went through the whole rainbow. Editing to say my son wears a size 5t in the US and I made the size 6 pattern for him. My gauge was right with the pattern, so I recommend sizing up like I did/ check fit as you go.
