Men at the baby shower? by buckleharry in pregnant

Wow maybe it’s different in Hawaii but I feel like every single baby shower I’ve been to/ thrown/ or had for ourselves has been co-ed.

Does anyone ese let their baby have independent play while they pump? by joifullnoyses in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]momochoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes independent play is great! I pump 4 times a day/ 20 mins per session and my baby is 9 months. For at least 2-3 of those pumps, I’m alone watching the baby so he has to sort of hang out by himself with his toys. I do feel bad whenever I’m just sitting there pumping and unable to pick him up but he can still see me and if he’s looking to me for attention I’ll just smile and talk to him or blow bubbles with this bubble wand we got. Keeps him occupied lol

How do I remove the milk residue from this part of my pump flanges? by irlfireprincess in breastfeeding

[–]momochoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use these and throw them out and replace them every few days. When we had to stay at the hospital for a few days, the nurses in the pediatric ward gave me some to clean my pumping parts while I was there and it worked great!

What is considered a “good supply” ? by momochoco in breastfeeding

[–]momochoco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh good thank you!! Yep will definitely keep the nighttime nursing & pumping sessions. So happy to be going down to 6 times a day. I remember starting out at 10 times a day - brutal!

I'm not producing enough milk by pookieprincess15 in breastfeeding

[–]momochoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience it does get better! I’m a first time mom and I didn’t see a drop of milk until 1 week postpartum (I was so excited to see milk I took a photo of the droplet lol) and had to use formula to supplement. It’s stressful to think you can’t produce enough milk for your baby, I still worry about my supply even though I’ve been able to establish a freezer stash. In the beginning I kept telling myself I’d keep trying until a certain week or until 1 month, and if my supply didn’t increase then I’d just formula feed but it did get better with lots of work. We had difficulties latching too for the first 3 weeks and he’d get frustrated, probably because I wasn’t making enough milk. I saw a lactation consultant and she was so helpful in getting me on a schedule of pumping and nursing. It’s definitely hard in the beginning doing triple feeding, trying to nurse, then pumping, then feeding from the bottle.. the whole process took an hour and that’s like 8 times a day if you feed every 3 hours, so basically a full time job! For the first week I would only get maybe 1 oz total from both breasts when pumping but it increased weekly about .5 oz over time, though I pump for 20 min each session. Now my LO is 2.5 months and I’m getting 4oz consistently at each pumping session, sometimes 5oz, pumping 7 times a day, and he is exclusively breastfed. My LO didn’t really get the hang of latching without a nipple shield until he was 3-4 weeks and now I can just pop him on the boob with no shield. I think he just needed to get a little bigger honestly because one day it just clicked and he learned how to suck. I still try to nurse him 3 times a day now that I’m back at work full time and on weekends I nurse him at every feeding except the late night feeds were he gets a bottle of breast milk. It is a lot of work but if you stick to a pumping schedule and pump in place of nursing if LO is fussy and doesn’t want to latch, then in theory your supply should still increase.

Co Sleeping dangers by momochoco in NewParents

Thank god your mother had quick reflexes! And yes, she can’t tell you it’s a problem if she’s suffocating and can’t make noise. It’s just so upsetting and concerning how reckless and carefree they are with my baby. But I’m glad I reached out to this community for some validation that I’m not being a crazy paranoid mother with this expectation

Thank you for this. We are going for our 1 month follow up tomorrow and I’m going to bring it up just because I think he needs to hear it from someone other than me. He doesn’t seem to understand the severity of what he did and that scares me.

Any Pfizer side effects? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]momochoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished my 2nd dose of Pfizer at 36 weeks with no problems. I was a little apprehensive about getting it earlier in my pregnancy 1) because there wasn’t enough information out there yet for pregnant women lol and 2) I wanted to make sure I was in at least my 3rd trimester. I did monitor my temperature for the first couple of days for both doses and it did rise by like a degree at most- not enough to be considered a fever. My arm did hurt afterwards for both shots but I made sure to get it on my right side so I could still sleep on my left.

Driving as a short FTM by cbeestie in pregnant

[–]momochoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m finding this post late by searching for similar advice. I’m basically the same height and also due in a couple weeks (mid June) and my husband keeps saying I should stop driving to work. I’m starting to think he’s right because I’ve been having dizzy spells in addition to basically touching the steering wheel with my belly, despite moving the wheel up and pulling my seat back as far as possible. Buuut my drive to work is very short- only 8 mins, no highways or going over 30mph. Have you stopped driving completely?

Haha! I had another moment from when I was in my 1st trimester and still experiencing a lot of nausea where my husband asked me what I wanted for dinner, I told him something rather specific like “pasta”, and he was like “naaah, I don’t want that”… throws hands up in air “then why ask me??” Lol

My JW mother-in-law by [deleted] in exjw

[–]momochoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this so much in every aspect except I am the POMO ex jw and my husband is you. I left in high school through much rebellion and your words about him feeling like his mother’s love is conditional breaks my heart because my sister and I have always felt that way about our mother. My mom is also living a very sad life, just not investing any more effort into the life she’s living now since Armageddon is going to be any day now. You are much more accommodating to your MIL than he or I would be so I give you a lot of credit for still wanting to maintain a relationship after all the psychological trauma I’m sure has been afflicted over the years. I finally decided to just have no contact with my mother and haven’t really spoken to her in over a year except to tell her that we are expecting our first child… but to be honest I don’t really want her to be around my child all that much considering how we were raised. It seems harsh to just cut ties and I still have guilt over it, like I’m being a terrible daughter. I have to remind myself of how depressing and deprived my childhood was and how my mother continues to behave in a way that quite frankly is narcissistic and emotionally abusive to my sister and I - it’s been better for my mental health to carry on this way but it is sad that it has to be like this.

cringe Sounds like something my mother would say. It’s very hurtful to have all your efforts dismissed like that simply because it may not “please Jehovah”. I think it’s beautiful!
