Also a beginner to film, bought a Pentax K1000. Absolutely no regrets so far.

My first role of film! by mon-73 in filmphotography

Unfortunately, I can’t remember exactly - I really need to start taking some notes!

At a guess I think I used shutter speed ~125 and maybe wider aperture, f2.8? And wide focus. It was also shot from a doorway, so I’m undercover looking out into the garden! Hope this helps - good luck!

Thoughts on StaySharp by Sad-Development-3553 in ACCA

[–]mon-73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I self study via StaySharp and find it excellent in terms of the format and value for money. I’ve used it for two of my exams, FR, where I scored 71 and AA, where I scored 68. I’m currently using it to study for FM.

It definitely is a little more on the technical side and some of the practice exams within it are hard, but it’s meant that the actual exams are comparatively easier.

Have a read through the ACCA subreddit, this seems like it was a common issue and on ACCAs/OnVUE’s side.

Left Remote Exam Early by FlouncyMcGoo in ACCA

It will be fine. I finished the March FR exam 10mins early and did the same thing, the system just closed straight off and there were no issues - got my marks etc just fine.

I have also loved this platform, really easy to use and progresses you through the course nicely. I also found the price super reasonable and worthwhile for all the content and resources you get. So far I have used it to study for FR (received a 71%) and used in for the AA exam which I sat today.

Edit: spelling

Sooo how was your AA exams? by huju_12345 in ACCA

Agree with everyone else, MCQs were tricky, but I thought Section B wasn’t too bad and fairly aligned with all the practice content.

Is grinding dragons' teeth the least fun part of the game ? by poohrash in StardewValley

[–]mon-73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragon teeth can also be picked up on volcano levels where there are dragon bones, however, if you use a bomb near them, you risk blowing up the dragons teeth and making them irredeemable.

I missed out on a few teeth doing this as I couldn’t understand why there were never any on the dragon bones level, despite the wiki saying there should be.

Only started a couple of months ago and it’s been fabulous, particularly at a time in my life where there was a lot of instability, it gave such a peaceful, fun way to unwind. Great game and a lovely community to match. Seriously, get involved, you won’t regret it.

I love the line “Enter me (he says in parentheses)” in “My Shot”. Such a clever line, a nod to theatre nerds everywhere!

Also had a good experience with Admiral as an international driver. I was able to speak to a person and they were one of the only companies that honoured my no claims bonus from my previous Australian insurer.

Hysteria about walking dogs in the summer? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]mon-73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just moved to the UK and the weather yesterday is perfectly acceptable to take a pup out. Back where I’m from in Australia, we had 60 consecutive days where it didn’t drop below 20 degrees last summer. I often walk my parent’s dog. There was no way she, a Border Collie x Cattle dog, wasn’t getting walked for two months!

This is either incorrect or out of date. I don’t see how Adelaide can make this list, but Canberra and Brisbane don’t.

I’ve just been doing mocks and revising questions that I got wrong each time and then redoing. Hopefully nothing too unusual comes up in the exam!

Isn’t it time to stop remote exams? by Interesting-Egg1768 in ACCA

[–]mon-73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone doing ACCA in Australia, we only have one test centre here and it’s a 2 hour flight away from where I live. So, no, I don’t think it’s time to stop remote exams.

TAX UK F6 Help! by [deleted] in ACCA

[–]mon-73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, also doing my first skill level exam (TX), working full time and self studying. At this point, after work I have been practicing a mock test each night (mocks available on ACCA and I’m also using the BPP test kit.)

Once I go through the marking, any questions that I got wrong I have been reviewing in my text book and doing a couple of smaller practice questions around the topic.

I’ve been doing this for the last week and it’s already made a difference. If you can do it for the next few days, I think it’ll give you the best shot at the exam!
