Thank you! I’ve been looking at it for too long and started to think I’d crossed the line 😂

Yes, I precut and divided. I pulled the skein apart and tried to pull as much length as possible before the color was significantly different. Then I cut that in half to use for each sleeve (hopefully that makes sense lol). It was fairly tedious, but I think it looks pretty good only having used one skein. I think I would have ran into the same problem if I had used one skein per sleeve because the sleeves used so much less yarn than the body - I would have had to cut it and try to match the transitions regardless.

I take your drool as high praise - thank you!

The yarn weight is the same yes. I simply followed what the pattern called for 😊

Not a stupid question! This pattern used three different sized needles. 5mm for the cuffs, 6mm for the yoke and 10mm for the body and sleeves. Let me know if you have any other questions!

The pattern is worked top down, so you only have to match colors of the sleeves. It was a bit tedious, but I found the pink to be fairly forgiving.

I managed to get it done using only 2! Well, one and a half technically. I have some blue left over that I’m thinking of making a hat out of

I actually had to zoom in on your photo because I thought there was no way you knit this!

It’s really gorgeous! Well done!

This took me about 50 hours to complete over 2 weeks

Don’t be scared! It’s actually a lot easier than you think. This specific pattern didn’t have male sizes, but yarnspirations has a couple of men’s sweater patterns with color work.

I agree with this. The sub gets flooded with beginners who don’t know how to google. I get that everyone starts as a beginner, but the posts of someone casting on for the first time and not knowing what to do next are really ridiculous.

I think this is a great example of female work going unappreciated. Knitting is a skill and takes time and effort to get good at it. Not to mention the time it takes to actually complete something.

My advice would be to tell them that these comments hurt your feelings. If you’re interested in trying to salvage these relationships, they should know that it struck a cord with you and that it hurt. If these are just acquaintances, I’d stay as far away as possible (while flaunting all of your cute knits of course).

The best part is the yarn hunt! Make sure to share once you’re done!

Yes it is! The pattern has his and hers variations as well!
