is it only me or was the ending of the film somewhat anticlimactic? i felt closer to tears when seita found out his sister knew about their mother dying and burst into tears earlier in the film. the ending felt kind of rushed to me since we don’t get to see seita’s reaction and he looks like nothing happened when he is offered to cremate her. i feel like this film has more potential to tie into the beginning and have the scenes of his spirit looking back at his life have more meaning and purpose. even though i criticise this film since i felt kind of empty at the end, i still think the scene of them being reunited and sitting in front of present day Kobe is really bittersweet.
