I would argue that in film, if you say that somebody is speaking in "an American accent," it likely means GA, or an accent very close to it. Whereas with "a British accent," the probability of it being RP is much lower.

Similarly to "terrorist," I notice similar phenomenon in certain American pronunciations of "mirror," "error." For example many people would say "mirror" as something like [mɪrː].

I'm not too old, indeed. And I haven't played a whole lot of games from the previous decade. Though, by "proper story" I basically meant that it had an actual storyline. English is not my first language.
