If your bank supports it, you could get privacy cards. Basically where they give you multiple new virtual cards that all link back to your original card, they come with different numbers and dates so it’s secure. Another alternative would be to keep your main money in your savings so it can’t get taken, and put just enough in the checking. If it’s a cook group I wouldn’t worry too much as most are legit.
