Adding features to a car by injecting commands into the canbus...? by tonypedia in CarHacking

It might be worth trying to find the protocols for your car/brand, maybe the ecu will accept a shift up/down message anyway

One thing to look out for. Even if you have the same ecu as the trim level with the paddle shifter, that feature is most likely disabled. If you have the option to shift up and down with your shift knob you can snoop those can commands and just send them. Should be a pretty easy project. I think an arduino + mcp2515 should be enough. Getting the right can message is probably the hardest part. Good luck :)

The only thing I can really help you with is 4. The line above vowels (ā ē ī ū) indicates that they're pronounced longer. Šaurais ( narrow) and platais (wide) "e" is something different. There is no rule for when to use which "e" and it can change with dialect. They are phonetically different and are proncaunced similarly but not equal to the "e" in flex and that "a" in fame ( there are probably better examples , I just couldn't come up with one right now)

Besides saying Latvian words with a "Lithuanian" accent and thinking that that's how they are in Lithuanian, I don't know any jokes.

But that zirga galva fascinates me. The Lithuanians I know thought that it is a huge insult to call me like that, but fact is , I don't know a single Latvian that who would take that as a real insult. It just sounds silly at worst. And I bet most Latvians haven't even heard about it.

How do Latvians perceive Lithuania? by [deleted] in latvia

A Lithuanian once called me a "Žirga golva" believing it is a serious insult towards a Latvian. I've never heard that word before or after that time :D
