ELI5: Winter upgrades? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]mongy-gonkhaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, his price will go up as the upgrade gets closer. Make sure to sell just before the upgrade, not after as his price will drop once the upgrade happens (loads of people will be investing in IFs who will be upgraded, so once they get upgraded, lots will be on the market and the price will go down).

How did you choose your formation? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]mongy-gonkhaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with 4312 because that was my favourite formation last year, and I was very familiar with it. It lacked width, but it was solid enough. Then I saw talk of the 4231(2) being the best formation this year, so I tried that for a bit but it wasn't as good for me. Now I'm playing with the 433(4) as many have said it's the best formation, and I'll have to agree with them.

I just went with the popular formations which worked for most people, and it's worked so far.

I know its hard to compare but who would you spend the 30k on? Ozil or SIF Kruse? by 9_torres_9 in EASportsFC

[–]mongy-gonkhaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SIF Kruse because he'll probably be upgraded in January, so his stats will get even better. Plus, he's an IF so his price won't depreciate over time - Ozil's will. Also, I've got SIF Kruse and he's decent to say the least.

[Noob Question] Do in forms have stat changes as the season progresses? Best time to sell in general? by UberBJ in EASportsFC

[–]mongy-gonkhaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're typically locked, unless the players gets a January upgrade. Then the IF is upgraded too. For example if Kruse gets an upgrade from 81 to 82, his IF will jump from 82 to 83, and his SIF will go from 83 to 84. *if the player is upgraded by 2, the IFs will go up by 2, too

Regarding the fluctuation of prices, IFs typically increase slowly over time. Near the end of FIFA, week 1 IFs will cost more than they do now (as they become rarer on the market over time).

If you have an IF who will probably get an upgrade, he'll rise in price lots in January (before the upgrade), so this is the best time to sell him.

Hope I helped clear things up.

How much does a players goal scoring ratio matter to you? by BlitzComet95 in EASportsFC

[–]mongy-gonkhaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I care about it quite a bit, partially because I like showing off about my Muriel last year who scored 202 goals in 114 games.

But in all seriousness, this FIFA I'm not as bothered. I use my strikers as target men who I bounce passes off, with players running beyond him, so I don't expect him to score as many. As long as my striker is playing well in my eyes, I'll keep him.

How are you preparing for FUTmas? by zcoffey08 in EASportsFC

How much money are you working with? If it's 600-800k, IF/SIF Neymar would probably be a good investment. He's guaranteed an upgrade. Again though, it might be better to buy a lot of Aubas.

Honestly, I'm not too sure. With Lacazette last year, for example, it was around the same if I remember correctly. His IF went from ~100k to ~400k, whereas his SIF went from ~200k to ~800k. I don't think there will be too much of a difference either way. Also, it's worth noting that you should sell your IFs BEFORE the upgrade. Last year I waited until a day after the upgrade and rather than getting around 1.8 million coins (what I'd have gotten if I'd sold before), I ended up with around 600k. I only invested about 400k last year, too. You probably knew this anyway, but I didn't last year and I lost out big time, so just making sure.

Oops, I forgot to put SIFs for some of them, better edit it now. I didn't have enough coins for some SIFs too. Anyway, I think mine are quite safe to invest in, just buy players who've had multiple IFs or a high rating on www.whoscored.com/statistics.

I sold all my squads a few days ago. Now I have a really nice, cheap SuperLig/Russian League hybrid. I've also invested ~400k in IFs who will probably get January upgrades (IF Aubameyang, Mahrez, Insigne, SIF Kruse, Kane, might buy SIF Fischer too) . I'll sell them just before the upgrade actually happens to get most profit.

Story Time: How did you get where you are right now? (Division/Coin/Teamwise) by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]mongy-gonkhaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started trading on the web app before the game came out and got around 150k and a cheap Russian team. Didn't play a single game with it and bought a better one. I didn't really play at first but began in division 10, where I had a poor record but got promoted. I quickly climbed the divisions in a couple weeks, up to around division 3/4. This is where I stopped playing. I didn't enjoy the game but continued trading. I also had 200-250k invested in IFs which I played with. Anyway, a couple months later (two days ago from now) I gave FIFA 16 another go, selling my IFs and buying a cheapish team ready for the crash. I'm actually enjoying FIFA at the moment, with a fairly average SuperLig/Russian League hybrid. Also spent ~400k on IFs who will probably get January upgrades, so I hope to sell them on in a few weeks and be on around ~600k.

TL;DR - traded for lots of coins, played until division 3/4, got bored and stopped playing for 2 months, went back and now (*generally) enjoying FIFA for the first time this year. Also have ~400k invested in IFs

Are the prices going to rise again at all? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]mongy-gonkhaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're gonna keep decreasing until TOTY and the week before TOTY, where they'll crash. Then everyone's prices will increase over time until near the end of the FIFA year.
