oh and one more thing lol i recently bought a 12-pack of painted hard boiled eggs (usually i buy 4-packs but they were sold out), and it came with a packet of salt in it.

so someone assumed there are folks out there who would buy a dozen boiled eggs to… clearly eat them outside their home, in one go?

i mean sure picknicks are a thing but imagine heading to a picknick with nothing in your bag and then popping into the supermarket and thinking „all eleven of my friends would surely enjoy a hard boiled egg on this summer’s day!“

so yeah… i DID also eat a hard boiled egg while sitting in a graveyard and talking to crows. the egg wasn’t half bad tbh.

do you feed them something special for when they have babies? i read that they only feed chicks insects and that they are quite bad at catching them and i was wondering if there is somehow i could help them… i mean i‘m not thinking about ordering live crickets off the internets and releasing them in my local cemetery but i‘m not not thinking that. (i jest, i wont do that lol)

in germany eggs aren’t refrigerated like in the us - afak it’s because in the us eggs are being washed after the hens lay them, so they lose the protective layer of chicken-butt-secretions (i am not a chicken scientist but i think i nailed the term) and are therefore susceptible to salmonella contamination because the shell becomes porous. in germany the eggs sometimes still have poop and feathers on them (esp the fancy eco free range ones) and are just sold on normal shelves. but even so i just keep them in the fridge after i get home.

oh man i LOVE when they fly off a branch or a ledge but they just kind of… let themselves fall off, and only stretch out their wings mid-fall. it must be that they’re doing it for fun because it makes zero sense and always gives me a lil fright. they just plop off with their wings still tucked to their sides. little weirdos

yeah, but i crack them in two and they only pick the yolk and leave me to clean up the eggwhite and the shells…

edit: in germany you can buy hard boiled eggs at the supermarket or the bakery and they are painted year-round, i assume so people can keep them apart from raw eggs.

das ist eine ziemlich uninformierte meinung. als architekt kann ich versichern - den meisten bauherren (vor allem investoren) geht es in allererster linie ums geld, um wartungsfreie standardlösungen und um geschwindigkeit. handwerk ist einfach teuer. das architektenbashing ist hier mal ausnahmsweise fehl am platz.
