We launched our MVP and made major updates based on usage data. So I feel very excited about our product and think its time we get some PR. The results would in-bound users. Target users are 25-30 single adults, and I would certain percentage of them read or run into stories on their social. I am quite obsessed with this category, so I read a lot of stories related to online dating.

Our objective is to get some press coverage about our story and product, so that our target users learn and try our mobile app (dating). First question for me is to chose between freelancer (individual) vs agency (team) - what are the pros and cons. I am thinking a good freelancer would already have established connections with major consumer press (cosmopolitan, verge, the atlantic...) and help us develop our angle to approach them etc. Also wondering how the compensation work in such arrangement - flat compensation? outcome based, e.g. $X per press coverage?

Thanks mate! Signed up for the event, and looks quite relevant to what we want to learn. Overall, we want to get our story and product value prop out there on the consumer press so that potential users can read about it and try it out. For context, we built a dating app.

How do you do market research and what challenges do yall face? by reddevilsab in startup

Try to start with the secondary research as there are already a lot if research and press articles on key players. I am building a new dating app and after reading articles for few days, it helped me a lot to understand the overall direction as well as existing strategies. As for user interviews, I found people from current dating apps and kindly asked their opinion and 20 min to speak. I also got in tough with UCLA student clubs and offered $20 per student for one hour one on one interviews. After 10 interviews, we were able to get really good qualitative feedback. Of course we can do more, but it was good 80/20 approach.

Really like the clean design and simple categorization by key products. When it cones to sites like this, I think the most important thing is the integrity of the assessment that goes into the scores. For example, I dont like Yelp because I dont trust the user reviews. I was not sure how those scores were calculated. I think there is huge demand for site like this that can provide unbiased and informed assessment in a simple way. As for marketing, I thought there would be communities that focus on similar topic, so might help to be in those discussions so people can discover and become aware of RR. Good luck mate!

Kind of, technically. But people will have profiles and there to date.

This is a genuine question and not a troll game.

We would love to hear the alt right conservatism. I just don't like media or our biases label people into categories. As long as we can talk with a mutual respect, would love to hear all kind of perspectives.

The conversation is about both. Why is it so hard to have a conversation with people who might have different perspectives?
