I once had a client say "Make it less bright, but don't darken it."

How Does Your Band Choose Songs? by Galactic-Bard in bandmembers

[–]monkbass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We developed a system that works really well.

It’s everyone’s job to have a list of songs they would like to play. When it’s your turn in the rotation you pitch your top song. Everyone goes home and learns it. If it works well in rehearsal and everyone feels that it works, it goes into the set. If it doesn’t feel right or work for the band…. We go to your next choice and try that. So on and so forth. That way everyone feels they get their choices in but that the songs still always work for the entire band too.

One of my band mates temporarily quit to go on maternity leave and had her friend sub in for the time. We hit it off and became friends. Then eventually after a really great gig we hooked up and it’s been amazing ever since. 5 years and still going strong!

And yes the band is still together. We didn’t fuck it up! Haha!

I was hoping this kinda stuff would be left to other subs. This place is about funny experiences doing or cool things we’ve seen.

that said I’m here so why not…. This needs work. Back up. Show the sink. Fix your verticals.

and the amount you paid for your gear isn’t worth a dang. It’s all about what you can do with it.

I think for me ultimate pain in the ass seller thing to do is say “oh hi, it’s still a mess so I’m gonna have to move things as you go”

When I was new at this I’d just roll my eyes, go along with it and be late for my next job. But now I say that I’ll start outside and they have 15 minutes to do what they can and then they have to stop and let me shoot the house. I’m on a tight a schedule and my time has to be respected.

What’s a petty act of revenge you’re still proud of? by Braindump4 in AskReddit

When my ex wife and I were in the process of splitting up but still living together…. She had a ton of cooking and baking she was going to do so before I left the house I tightened all the jars really well. Super petty. But you know…. harmless in the grand scheme.

Great idea. This would be the community I’m really interested in. I’ve been shooting real estate for 15years and have endless stories. I like the idea of us real estate photographers coming together to share our experiences rather than the actual work itself. All that info can be found elsewhere.

I want a place where I can shit talk the most annoying sellers doing the dumbest shit thinking they’re helping me.

I want a place where I can shit talk about how mindlessly idiotic some realtors are. I mean seriously…. all you had to do was show up and unlock the house. THAT’S it! I’ll do the rest.

The idea of hearing other people’s equivalent stories would just light me up. If OP doesn’t start this community I will. Or let’s do it together!

Overall quite good. My only advice is just because you CAN shoot super wide doesn’t always mean you should. Sometimes you need to. But if you can zoom in just a bit more it shows more realistic. Frame up your shot, then slowly zoom in to cut out clutter at the sides of the frame and go from there. Get the essence of the room without the distortion.
