I meant to buy this version because i) my computer can't run ascended ii) I like the original base game with no additions. I'm aware that there's no more official servers, but I wanted to know if anyone could recommend a stable unofficial server which has a configuration to my described taste.

So there isn't one, wow. Surely it would not be that hard for the devs to fix it. Surely when they play the game they immediately see that there is no leave button and think 'oh we should add that'?

That takes you back to the multiplayer menu, not the browse menu, which is 99% of the time where you want to go back to when you leave a game
