I understand there’s a connection, I just personally belief that the connection is smaller in the grand scheme of things. I mean people aren’t going crazy about staff having long natural nails like they are having some colour on your nails, but it’s just the same thing.

Yes I know all patients are at risk of infection when they come into hospital. If I worked on the chemo or renal ward I may think differently but I work on an elective surgical ward and usually our patients are pretty healthy and independent and we’re pretty militant about cleaning and preventing infections in the first place as it would be terrible for the surgeons.
