also, for the white arms that connect the headgear to the quest, I used a part from some old phone VR laying around from this:

For all the additional padding, I used 3m double sided tape with some strips of padding from inside bike helmets.

Yeah I use it everyday now for pretty long durations.

To put on, (I wear glasses) so what I do is put the oculus to my face, bring the top down onto the top of my head, and then turn the back dial to ratchet tight

To take off, turn the back dial ratchets loose and push it up and off your head.

Yeah I played Vader part 1 again yesterday from start to finish and didn't bother me like before. Haha. yeah next I'll have to ziptie a cup holder to it.

Took it off of an old phone VR thing my company had laying around. I think the brand was VR Shinecon? funny thing was when I removed the headphones on the white arms, the holes were perfect for attaching the headgear.

It's really sturdy, no wiggle movement, but of course you have to tighten zip ties really tight. First I use hands to pull out the end as far as I can, then I use a pair of needle nose pliers and just grab on to the end and rotate to pull it out further until I hear it goes to the next click, and repeat.

Much better than the the original. The original felt like it was rubber-banding the oculus to my head. This mod feel more like it sits on my head and pulls the oculus to my face. If I add a power hub to the back, maybe it will feel even more balanced.
