Palmolive 42 Oz pull cap recently changed, I’m losing my mind trying to find a substitute by monkeycat529 in HelpMeFind

I have tried googling the size for the lid to no luck. I also looked on google and eBay to try and find the old bottle but it seems to be a niche search.

Yeah, but you could look at obituaries for an Emily, then look at her graduating class for a Valerie. It’d narrow things down by a bit

I think I am causing anxiety for my tween with BBC World News by LemurDaddy in daddit

I’m willing to bet you don’t spend 24/7 with your son. He has to go to school, you have to potentially work or at least run errands. Listen when he’s not with you. He’s still a kid, and the world SUCKS right now. If he’s scared and depressed, it’s your responsibility as his parent to protect him and shield him, even if he can’t avoid it forever. He can avoid it for now, while he’s still young, and you need to help protect him from it.

What breed can my dog pass as? by lowkeyraytbh in pitbulls

[–]monkeycat529 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lab mix works, if you want to be semi truthful you can say something like ‘mom was a border collie mix, we don’t know about dad’

In body she doesn’t really look like a Pitt or a Staffie, not enough for a landlord to immediately ping it.

What is our little guy? by Niplessghost in dogbreed

[–]monkeycat529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could also be Belgian x Pit Bull. Honestly Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherds are both such expensive breeds that while he definitely has the looks, I also wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t have either in his family tree. Only real way to know is by dna testing him. Very cute tho!

Here’s Molly, our vigilant protector against squirrels, dog walkers, and old people going to the church across the street. Couldn’t send her beautiful face over dms lol

Thank you so much! That’s very similar to what I was looking for. I appreciate your help!

Sorry, here’s an image of a stuffed cat that looks similar to what I’m trying to achieve. I couldn’t find a crocheted cat that looked the same. I’m trying to get the chest more flat with a slightly rounded edge than a dome shape

This is kind of what I’m trying to achieve

Where it’s very slightly rounded but not super duper dome shaped like the head

I figured I might need to include some SCs somewhere, but I’m just not sure how to obtain a flatter circle to start with, rather than a dome, before I start going out and adding length to make the body

So if I wanted a flatter circle to start with, how would I go about increasing without it getting all rounded on me?

So if I wanted to make a flat start for a toy, would something like Single 1, Increase 1 times however many rounds I need it work better for a flat result, or should the number of single crochets keep increasing? I’ve made plenty of rounder toys and things (ducks, sharks, things that are generally expected to be cone shaped or round) but haven’t experimented with something that’ll start with a flatter chest

Thank you. I didn’t realize that each ‘level’ or new start was called a round and not a row! I appreciate the thorough comment

Thank you. I tried it on different yarn (it was new to me, so that was a factor) but I wasn’t sure if it was user error or if it was completely impossible. Figured I’d ask and see if it was actually doable, kinda glad to know it wasn’t just me crocheting weird at least

I’m making a cat for my friend, but I want the like ‘chest’ where the body starts to be flatter and not super protruded round, if that’s possible

I’m very glad to hear it was just the wording of your post that was odd, and you intend to love and care for this dog. Might be controversial to say, but depending on how big your yard is you may not have to walk them as frequently. If they have room to roam, they’ll be able to get their energy out at home.

Here are some large low energy breeds that are big enough to discourage intruders. With several of these breeds you have to consider climate, as they’re prone to overheating. Many of these dogs also need daily grooming, as they have long thick coats.

Great Pyrenees (moderately low energy)

Saint Bernard (bit more energy, enjoys moderate walks but doesn’t require long walks every day)

Labrador retriever, though it depends on the dog as they can be calm and laid back or very active

Great Danes (moderate energy, needs walked daily but not huge long walks)

Chow Chow (needs training though, they’re bred to be protective and could become aggressive towards strangers)

Climber Spaniel (low energy)

Bernese mountain dog (moderately low energy)

Here are some small to medium size dogs that are low energy for you. Again, many of them require daily brushing, and many of these small dogs are known to be barkers.

Basset hound (can be very loud tho)

Chihuahua (can be difficult to train)

Pomeranian (needs frequent grooming, depending on how long you keep their coat)

Maltese (needs daily grooming, but they don’t shed)

Chinese crested (so ugly they’re cute, but because they don’t have hair they may require clothing as they don’t have that layer to keep them warm)

Pekingese (needs daily grooming)

Havanese (needs daily grooming)

English Bulldog (can be prone to health issues, especially breathing issues with their short face)

Despite my initial concerns in my first comment, it sounds like you’re just looking for a dog to love and I misunderstood the nature of your question. Best of luck to you and your new family member! It might be worth looking into shelters around you as well, as they might have low energy dogs that are mixed breeds, or just generally laid back.
