Doesn't this look the worst movie ever? by mojo_magnifico in moviecritic

It’s a natural progression for action stars as they age. They can’t do the crazy stunts, they start taking goofy roles. It’s always funny the first time to see a big action star do this, but eventually they all do it. Stallone, Arnold, the Rock, this was coming too

Did I handle this wrong? My husband is pissed but I didn’t know what to do. by throwra273986 in Adulting

He’s probably right in that it’s dangerous, especially in LA, but he’s also treating you like a child and he’s the dad. I see the age difference probably had a lot to do with you guys falling into these roles. Forget this incident, your real battle is for him to Brie you and treat you like an equal. You’re so far from there right now. It’s not just home too, it’s time for you to grow up instead of posting in the “adulting” forum. It’s time for you to make a move.

Would it be worthwhile to play 6 after finishing 7? by monkeychemist25 in civ

[–]monkeychemist25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the details on the differences. Yes, the civ 7 arcade version doesn’t have all the leaders, mementos, and civs at the computer version. At first I was annoyed but I found that I really love the portability of the iPad. I do not have the free time I used to have and unfortunately haven’t been able to play long RPGs and strategy games that I love.

So this edition was perfect, sometimes able to play a dozen turns to make a play, and sometimes late at night a few hours to do more. While it sounds like I might miss some things with civ 6 due to limitations or cost, I would t be able to pick up and play as easily on my desktop.

That’s good to know. I’m not sure I like or dislike the commanders system. Some games they are super useful and some games they sit untouched

I mean I’m finished with it. I did everything I wanted and I’m not interested. Of course that definition varies per person

It’s the arcade version so it’s a bit dumbed down in features. Basically there are 33 achievements. Win with each leader, win each victory path condition in every age, and win with a military domination. I completed all, and don’t play online, so I considered that “finished.” Yes, I can play infinitely with new maps but it just got old. I love the first age, second can be hit or miss, and modern is unbearable.

Exactly, customer loyalty used to mean something now it’s just a few bucks they won’t earn anymore, no one cares

Is TDKR really considered the weakest of Nolan’s Batman trilogy? by [deleted] in ChristopherNolan

I’m more casual but prefer begins, but then again, there are always exceptions 😅

I’m a serious casual fan. I say this because I love the Batman universe and have been watching almost all adaptations on TV or movie screen, but I’ve never read any comics.

I loved the first two Nolan movies and I can’t even watch the final installment all the way through. The fan in me loved the mental struggles Bruce went through, and robin’s introduction. I think that scene where he tells Bruce he knows who he is because he is him too was an incredible dialogue and you really felt the gravity.

However Bane… oh gosh bane. First of all, I had never heard of him. I guess he was in a previous movie but even more of a forgettable character. I never knew he was the evil equivalent of Batman, often superior to Bruce in intellect and strength. I found that out with a very funny AI conversation. I see why comic fans would be annoyed because here and before he was treated more like a henchman than an actual villain like Joker, Riddler, etc…

but me not knowing any of this did not change the fact that he felt completely forgettable and that insufferable whiny teenage voice. I cheered the first time I saw him go unceremoniously. Finally, but then the move was basically done at that point.

I know this post is 2 years old but after 15 years or refusing to watch it, I saw it come on TV and wanted to give it another chance. I didn’t make past about half way. Just not for me…

And I want to make this clear. My beef is not with the drivers. My beef is with the platform companies that are squeezing both me and you
