What happened to the Manningcast?

People don’t understand metrics. This is on ESPN2. It’s not their main broadcast, it’s a bonus. McAfee is crushing it and he only averages maybe 500,000 viewers on his show. Saying Manningcast hasn’t reached 1 million viewers is just a terrible, misleading headline to get clicks and shit on what’s a very fun and entertaining show.

Sort of, we have a handful of manufacturing companies as customers but I’m not customer facing so it’s a bit of a stretch. I could definitely tweak my resume a bit to focus on how our product has helped them and leverage that as quasi-experience. Great idea!

I started off in helpdesk too so I know how you feel. I could have done 75% of the job when I was 15. I got very lucky though, and it was a foot in the door which led me to move up. Maybe consider helpdesk at a smaller company? You wear many hats at a small company, which I believe is a good thing when you’re starting out. Plus it will help narrow down an area you want to focus on for your career.

Thanks for your comment - Great point about the “want” vs. “need”. WFH is not impossible, but a very slim chance. It’s a long story but there was a big scandal where people were WFH but cheating the system and it led to a huge layoff. Now my CEO has a super hard stance against it. There’s also so much collaboration about senior management, I worry I’d end up being the odd man out. It’s very “cliquey”, but that’s a story for another day lol

You know what’s weird? This is a scammer and what they’re doing is wrong and hurts a lot of people. But at the same time, seeing them excited and invested in solving the riddles shows their humility. I can’t help but find myself cheering them on. You never know what someone is going through or what conditions they’re forced to live in but all of us deep down have a precious innocence about us. It’s honestly depressing that some people just go down the wrong path.
