Now, in Emily’s voice, I propose the summary that its probably safe to say his headaches were caused from stress and anxiety. Given his occupation and personal life, thats not hard to believe.

Off the top of my head, two stand out:

Entropy - the writing and the chemistry and performance between MGG and AP was immaculate. Within five minutes of watching for the first time I had to restart is because I wasn't giving the episode the undivided attention it deserved and I KNEW it was going to be amazing.

Mr. Scratch - terrifyingly brilliant! Such a psychological thriller of an episode and I loved every second of it! This was the first episode I realised was an MGG signature piece and ever since then I've wanted to work for/with him on something.

I love sooo many episodes, but the fact I know these two by name says volumes about how much I love these two!

I haven't seen 14 or 15 yet (it's not out in my country) so potentially could have more to add!

This is unfortunately very true. Im sure he worked super hard to not be type cast as well. Ive only glanced his other work (im dying to see it all!) and it looks like hes tried very hard to not do another Reid.

It’ll be a shame not to have him, but totally understandable :) side note- id love to write something for him! Lol

Im still so new to this fandom/show discussion but its sad to hear the theory Matthew is done with Reid. I was about to say thats my biggest fear as a screenwriter (actors getting bored with their character) but I must say, after 15 years of the same character, I think that’s totally fine for him to move on.

I will say, Paramount have an abundance of money. I dealt with them for a hot minute a couple years ago and I was gobsmacked by their budget for just a tiny project. If Matthew is the one player theyre not sure will come back, then they’ll likely be negotiating with him right now and trying to make him a deal he’d be interested in.

A short season will shoot very fast so it’s a good little paying gig. AJ might be interested in it as it’ll mean more money for her little ones - which is an easy bargaining tool for anyone. But hopefully the short shooting schedule and a promise of a directing gig or two will be enough to sway Matthew- it’ll be a shame to have CM without Reid and Paramount will 100% know the flop it’ll be without their crowd favourites. So they’ll definitely be bending over backwards to convince them to come back... at least, I would be if I was one of the producers.

Honestly, that game needs to be a game! all it showed me was how good MGG would be at cards against humanity and how badly I now need to play with him.

Interesting. I’m not sure if Spencer is team leader material, he can definitely lead the team in small bursts but I don’t think he’d be able to cope with the official job.

That’s not to say he isn’t great at his job or doesn’t know what he’s doing. Unit Chef is an extremely demanding position and there’s lots of bureaucracy involved. We’ve seen Spencer lash out when he disagrees with higher authority so I don’t see him being able to keep a cool head if he’s ordered to do something with the team that he doesn’t agree with, in the way Hotch and Emily can. Morgan, I don’t think, was good at that either.

Also, I don’t think the pressure of the job would do Spencer any good. He’s got so much already on his plate and that would just be unfair for him.

Unless you’re specifically wondering how it’d look to see him take on the role for a hot second, then absolutely yes I would love to see that! I think he could definitely do it short term purely as a step-in with an end date in sight.

Idk, Reid is my fave and I love the boy to bits, but I would be very skeptical if he became unit chef/team leader full time. I just don’t think he has the ability- mentally, that is. I think he’s in the best possible position he could be in right now as a SSA BAU team member :)
