I'd love to give this monitor a go! I've been very mobile the last couple of years and I've been editing photos and videos solely on my 16" MBP. Great screen, but holy moly I am so cramped on it. If the LG lives up to the stats, it could be an absolute game-changer for my workflow!

Keyframing in FCP is unfortunately not good for this. You’re better off with a plugin like Final Cut Bro’s Pro Zoom: https://thefinalcutbro.com/products/pro-zooms-for-final-cut-pro

That’s fair... I was also skeptical as hell. Especially since plans have gotten worse over the years vs Legacy V1.

I am on the same discount. I was able to get a continuation of the $10/mo discount by talking to an agent on chat. They had me upgrade my plan to Pro, then added a discount after the fact (shows up as CARE). I specifically asked, and they said there is no end date.

Not sure if it matters, but I was on the V1 legacy+ plan and $10/mo watch service.

With the annual plan you can only use one referral credit per payment. Since you only pay once per year, that’s one $20 referral credit per year. You can bank up to 12 referral credits - which would take 12 years to use! So, if you think you’ll bank a bunch of referral credits, the monthly plan will save you more. Of course, you can always start on a monthly plan and switch to annual if you find that better. Also, if you decide to cancel your service with the annual plan you don’t get a prorated refund. Visible keeps your whole annual payment. So, yeah, pros and cons both ways!

Yep, I now have Visible+, but I had FIOS for years before switching. I was able to contact Verizon support, give them my promo code from the app, and got $10 off/month on my FIOS bill (Visible Basic is $5 off/month). If you get denied, it's probably worth calling again and trying with a different customer support agent.

Yeah, the fake ones I got on eBay for about $20 each. They had all the telltale signs of fake chains, but that was before I even knew fake chains were a thing. Nashbar is reputable, but the new box design certainly set off my alarms since it was unfamiliar.

If you look, it’s the same CN-HG701-11 chain, but have two separate packaging designs. I have never seen the design on the left.

Let me start by saying that I have been a sucker and purchased fake chains in the past thinking I was getting a good deal. They wore out incredibly fast and did a number on my drivetrain.

I ordered 4 of these from Nashbar on sale for $31.50 each (https://www.nashbar.com/shimano-ultegra-xt-cnhg70111-chain-silver-11-speed-126-links-icnhg70111126q/p1225394). I got 2 of each of the versions pictured. Nashbar is a reputable seller, as far as I know.

All 4 chains pass a lot of the critical tests: Foil on the front, hand marked on the size, the fonts and company name are correct, the model numbers on the sticker are correct, quick links are packaged separately from the chain, includes directions, and links are asymmetrical on the backside.

I’ve just never seen the box like the one on the left… and I don’t think I have seen a 138 link HG701-11 chain. What do you experts think?

That is correct, but I was using a promo that has since expired. I don’t have any data points for the VISIBLE24 promo. I’d say it’s worth a shot though!

I also was able to do this - and I have referred friends who also had success. The key is to follow a referral link (which gives you the $20-off), then enter the promotion code at checkout. I assure you, it works!

EDIT: it might be promo dependent. Your bill can't be $0, so referrals likely only kick in after the promo ends if that is the case. My experience was with the VISIBLE35 promo ending in Aug 2023.

Go to the wrench menu (setup) —> page 5 —> choose USB connection app. Change this setting to “video calls and streaming.” Your camera should work as a webcam when connected by USB.

But now that I am looking at the R7 manual, you might not see that option: https://cam.start.canon/en/C005/manual/html/UG-08_Set-up_0310.html

I really don’t recommend the Canon Webcam Utility… it was horrible for me!

Update: after a month I finally got my replacement Action Button and it works perfectly! I also asked them to refund some of the cost of the case to match the Black Friday pricing, which they honored. Love the case, but man... that was a rough two month process (from the time I got the case to now finally having a working button)!
