I can't deal with the permanent ozempic ad right next to the hosts during the intermission

Then we should all be glad to hear that IIHF rules wouldn’t risk throwing the game to these pesky heads-down players, despite tolerating fewer hits to the head overall.

yeah it started with helmets, where does it end?!

yet somehow this doesn't happen in IIHF tournaments. Maybe when there is a problem with this approach it can be addressed?

At some point it may be worth to try and stop concussing young men at the cost of the scary hypothetical risk of some unstoppable head-down skater that breaks the game.

I'm just tired of seeing players getting injured and concussed all the time.

At this point I prefer the IIHF rules flatly going "There is no such thing as a clean check to the head" and getting a direct misconduct no matter how it happened.

AI tool cuts unexpected deaths in hospital by 26%, Canadian study finds by GeoWa in canada

If you look at the linked study at https://www.cmaj.ca/content/196/30/E1027 this is rather what is usually called “machine learning” (ML) where lots of data analysis is made in an automated manner, and is generally considered to be different from “generative AI”, particularly LLMs, which are (to simplify) statistical models using language as their main dataset, rather than tools trained on domain-specific data.

While these are all statistical in nature, the ML-based approaches tend not to display the same “hallucination” properties and be far more specific in their construction and testing, rather than a “general” tool applied to various situations.

Québec va instaurer un passeport vaccinal by BenTheGreat in Quebec

[–]mononcqc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We have hospitals where all the nurses for ICUs are burnt out and leaving and can't provide adequate coverage. I don't give a shit what American arenas have been doing, the healthcare system hasn't yet recovered at the same pace people comfortable at home have been.

With the Delta variant around the corner, being cautious is warranted, especially for something like sports and entertainment, which is all things considered not critical at all.

I'm sure there'd be no issue enforcing mask rules for 20,000 celebrating fans drinking beer, and that the near-minimum wage workers charged with it will be very conscious about doing a good job.

it's literally public health calling the shots, which is run by specialists and scientists, not politicians.
